Raniban Retreat

Beautiful retreat on the hillside about Phewa Lake and Lakeside Pokhara. We visited during the calmer part of the season with fewer guests and were treated in the best way by the staff. They provided a great support when my fiancé turned ill and were keen on making sure that she was recovering.

The final bit of road up to the hotel is rough and parts of the huts are currently under construction. So for a period it might not be as pleasant as when they are finished.

The view is amazing, it is on a hilltop, from where you can see everything from Pokhara, the World Peace Pagoda, Shiva statue and the Himalayas. The food is very good and staff friendly. The manager is very friendly and helpful, he did arrange all the problems that arose while we were there.

The only problem was with the communication, as only 1 staff member could speak somewhat English, the others only nodded their head and called the one person who did understand what we wanted. Some rooms are very nice, others not so nice, so depends on what you get.

We have been following the insta page of “ Raniban Retreat” for a very long time and whenever they post something, which as always turns out to be mesmerising, we would share with each other and would start discussing and planning about our trip to this ‘Shangri-La’. So when our Nepal trip got finalised last month, the first thing we did was to book this place at Pokhara..and to be here in person has been quite surreal. The views of the different Himalayan ranges right in front of our room and also the night view of Pokhara city with the Phewa lake is just inexplicable. The breathtaking sight of the harmonious valley from the terrace with the Himalayas right in front while having a breakfast consisting of steaming coffee, aloo paranthas, sausages, baked beans and egg toast is something that we have started missing already. Trust us guys, this place is a real ‘Shangi-La’.

Nothing.

The location was very good. It offered majestic views of a wide expanse of the Himalayan range, with the Phewa lake and Pokhara City in the low lying valley. The night views are especially amazing. The views are worth the money, depending upon how much you are willing to spend on it. The staffs were extremely well mannered and polite. The rooms were clean. They offered us free upgrade, as an upper tier room was available.

Maybe because it was off season or just fresh out of a COVID lockdown, the place seemed a bit too secluded due to low number of guests. Also, as it is a posh hotel, food items are expensive. The road leading to the hotel is bad and dusty. One will have a bumby ride to and from the hotel

Every single thing was on point. The view from my room was spectacular. The location is away from the hustle and bustle from lakeside. Very few people on site as well. loved everything about it. The staff was so sweet as well.

There was some construction on site, so got a bit noisy when i was trying to sleep in the afternoon. But this was something Raniban Retreat had already flagged while i was booking.

The view from the roof top was unparallel, during the night time it is like an a sea of stars and during the day time we had a spectacular show of the clouds and beautiful scenery. The staff were super friendly and hospitable and ensured we had everything we needed.

The climb up to the hotel from the road is just so arduous, felt like an actual trek up a mountain.

The view from this retreat is the best I’ve ever experienced. Absolutely incredible views in the morning to wake up to. staff were amazing, especially Raj! Peaceful locowith amazing wildlife around.

It’s a little far from Pokhara Lakeside but that’s what gives ut the oeacefulness. taxis are not too expufrom the retreat and the staff will book one for you no hassle.

The majestic view of Annapurna range and Pokhara city view from the Roof top and rooms of the hotel. The manager and the staff are also very nice and warm. The food is very good too.

Nothing, however, it would have been better if the hotel could provide the transfer shuttle free from the Pokhara city. The hotel its bit far from the city and at the top of a Hill.

Amazing location. I bit difficult to reach, but once you are there you won’t regret the view. I guess it’s the best view you could get in Pokhara. Food was good. Staff where extremely accommodating and friendly. Must take the Mountain View room

Washroom overall can be improved. Also we found giant spiders in the room and outside. Need to do something about that for at least inside the rooms.

heavenly beautiful stay! staffs are very friendly! I stayed here for two days with my family and a 3year old kids such a warm welcoming staff and awesome food ! I strongly recommend family
