Hotel Chichen Itza

The room was large, the bed comfortable, nicely furnished in colonial style . There’s a garden and a pool . The bathroom is also very large and natural soaps are provided. Location is good, only 10 minutes drive from Chichen Itza. The hotel is quiet at night. Everything very clean. Breakfast was excellent and abundant, we had coffee, a large portion of fresh tropical fruit, fresh juice, a basket of bread and eggs. Breakfast was included . Dinner was also delicious, the hotel serves fresh homemade Mexican food from the region and everything on our plate was truly delicious. Beware they have 2 menus, one with international food with pizza and burgers, one with Mayan food . Ask for the Mayan or Mexican menu. Overall the hotel is really good.

There’s no internet in the rooms, only in the lobby which is outdoors and not suitable for conference calls if you’re working while you travel. It’s also pretty slow. The water in the shower was barely warm when we arrived in the evening. It was hot the next morning . There’s no sufficient lightings in the room, it was very dark. I’m the pictures it looks like the rooms have lots of natural light but in reality they were very dark. The rooms were also much smaller than what appears in the pictures but very comfortable . The safe in the room is very small so you can’t store your laptop and they don’t keep your valuables at reception.

The pool, the spacious room and bathroom and the breakfast is great. The staff is really friendly and helpful. There is a ping-pong table in the garden that you can use. We rented bikes (100 meters from the hotel) and we where at Chichén Itzà in 10 minutes (about 2 km).

Wifi is only in the lobby and pool area, not in the rooms. We also found lots of hairs in our bed upon arrival. The rest of the room and the entire hotel is spotless, but that was a bit nasty. Our room cardkey didn't work twice (only stayed 2 nights), so we had to go and reset them (no big deal, but unfortunate).

Everything is OK even if the property is a bit "run down" and everything seems a little bit dis-organized, our stay was excellent and nothing was wrong. We enjoyed the included breakfast even if the location of the breakfast next to the busy main road of the town is a little bit poorly chosen by the property.

Everything feels a little bit used and the breakfast location is noisy and your conversation 100% will be interrupted by the load traffic passing by but it's liveable.

Through Booking.com we had changed the reservation from four rooms for two nights, to three rooms for one night. When the first member of our party arrived, she was charged for the ORGINAL reservation. It took some time and intervention by Booking.com to eventually get a refund (had to be a bank transfer, as hotel claimed they could not issue a credit against the credit card used for the charge). All is well now.

The room was very comfortable and the facilities were very good. The receptionist was also very nice and welcoming.

- We hired a guide to visit Chichen Itza from the hotel and it was a horrible experience, it kind of ruined our visit to this amazing place and it was expensive. The guy spoke poor English, was making up things and he offered us to climb the pyramid if we pay him 250 USD (right now it is not allowed to climb it due to the safety measures and preservation of the site) which was highly unprofessional and inappropriate. Please hire an official guide at the site instead. I know the hotel cannot be fully blamed for this experience but I think they should take responsibility for who they cooperate with. - the breakfast was not the best, the eggs were very oily and the bread was dry

Nice, spacious room with a big tv and cable. The bed was rather hard (though this is my preference so it worked well for me). Everything felt very clean. The place is less than 10 minutes away from Chichen Itzá by car.

We had dinner at the hotel and the food wasn’t great. Also, the guy who checked us in wasn’t the friendliest and we couldn’t connect to wifi up in our room… Lastly, it’d have been nice to have our reservation email showing the final price, rather than saying a number and then stating that 16% VAT was excluded and 5% city tax was also excluded

Really close to the Chichén Itzá site allowing you to be among the first to visit the site in the morning. The hotel organized a tour with a very knowledgeable guide at a good price which made our visit of Chichén Itzá unforgettable. Hotel has a beautiful garden and pool area and the staff was extremely friendly. We were almost the only guests, but all services were available, including delicious food in the hotel restaurant.

The rooms are fine for a one night stay, designed in the old mexican style. We liked the pool area and the restaurant. You can park for free directly in front of the hotel entrance. The breakfast starts at 7 so you can still be the first at Chichen Itza ;).

Unfortunately we were told, that wifi is available only in the lobby. Even though we got to breakfast at 7 and were the only ones, we waited for more than 20 min to get our food.

Reasonable hotel quality. Reasonable cleanliness. Comfortable bed. What more do you need to sleep :-)? The hotel will not put you on your ass, but it is perfectly adequate for an overnight stay.

During our stay there was a very noisy wedding in the garden of the hotel. However, it can be assumed that it will not be repeated every night.

Our short stay at Hotel Chichen Itza was exceptional! We came from Merida for a weekend trip to visit Chichen Itza and this hotel made it all worthwhile. Absolutely fabulous location, the room was so lovely, the beds were so comfy, great water pressure in the shower, the pool was the perfect temperature, and breakfast each morning was delicious. All of the staff were so kind and attentive - we want to come back already!
