Hotel Caracol Plaza

The hotel was fine; nothing superb but fine. Everything worked out pretty well, everything as presented in the photos and the information provided. It met my expectations. The view is beautiful, therefore the location might require a power-walk. But it wasn’t so bad, and definitely worth it if you don’t want to be in the noisy part of town.

The pillows could use an upgrade; the breakfast buffet does not need a person to serve you, it creates an unnecessary waiting line; and the pool bar, had it been functional, it would have been amazing.

The original room allocated was poor in terms of standard of decor, no hot water and a faulty and insecure bathroom window. We were moved after making a complaint and the revised room was far better. The property was reasonably well situated about a 15 minute walk from the beach and the town / shops. The staff were all friendly and helpful particularly the restaurant / breakfast staff. The swimming pool and gym were used and were very good.

Above comment re standard of initial room

there is very big pool and the ares around it is very nice. the room has nice view and the restaurant has also magnificient view.

although my husband has health issues and is not allowed to wear a face mask they didn’t allow him to approach a buffet without it. The buffet is only available when there is over 100 guests in the hotel, if there is less then 100 there is a menu available and we had a problem to order crisps for a breakfast which were actually available at the buffet the previous day.

Phenomenal view over the bay. The location is quite convenient to visit both the main beach area, as well as all the smaller beaches in the west. It's also less than a 10 minute walk away from the ADO bus terminal. Rooms were big, convenient and featured a nice, small balcony.

The breakfast was ok, but not stellar (the view from the breakfast area on the other hand was again superb). Otherwise than that the hotel does not feel very alive: some parts of the hotel (probably dining areas?) are closed, emptied and/or are being renovated.

Don’t think the water in the pool has ever been changed. Odd that a hotel so large can rarely get a taxi, when I’ve stayed at other smaller hotels close by, they can get a taxi to. answer 80% of the time, at this hotel around 20%.

Close to ADO bus station and easy to get to Centro or the camionetas for Zicatela or other places in the area. Huge place with very clean rooms (to which the cleaners were very quick and efficient with). Great looking pool (I didn't get a chance to use it). Breakfast was ok. Nothing special, but the restaurant had amazing views of the bay. Very very food value for money.

Internet was temperamental and the TV didn't work. Breakfast was a bit like sheep herding and appeared very strict. All in all these are just minor points.

the breakfast was very bad!! terrible. we had breakfast included and some days we preferred to eat tamales outside than the dry eggs or chilaquiles

Really liked the pool and the water view from my room's balcony was a nice surprise. The breakfast was solid & the staff at the restaurant are great, and there is an exceptionally good water/beach view from the restaurant. Wifi was plenty good for working & taking video calls from my room, the restaurant or pool side.

Could really use some art or decoration in the rooms, but that's about it!

The breakfast is really good and the staff is friendly. The swimming pool is big enough and the water is warm.

The walls in the room were dirty. The parking entrance is always closed, and we must wait for someone to open it. The TV was not working.

The breakfast was really good, even though it says it’s an American breakfast everyday we had buffet and the taste was very good

At 6 am everyday there was a lot of noise above us, our room was below the kitchen so probably that was the main reason but it was annoying. Also the rate here in booking was more expensive than the actual hotel rate
