Hotel Velvet Plaza

Second time this year staying at Hotel Velvet and everything was very good like the first time. The best is that the hotel is very modern (it feels new); the room, hallways, and lobby were very clean; no bad or irritating odors or smells in the room or hallways; sheets and towels were of good quality; the room size is good; nice decor and furniture in the room; a good safe in the room; large window for natural light; good light options in the room to provide a bright or dim experience; big smart TV in the room; very comfortable bed and pillows; excellent shower - water pressure and hot water availability; friendly and professional front desk/reception staff; quick and easy check-in and check-out; good location for easy walking and public transportation; and all this at a very good price. It offers a much better experience and better value than the hotels in the centro historico. An excellent overall experience and our favorite hotel in Guadalajara!

The beds and pillows are super comfy and clean, the shower is loud but loads of water comes out and it's very easy and simple to use. The location is great, it's an easily accessible entrance as well and has several restaurants within walking distance, as well as a mall and a pharmacy. The service is phenomenal, I had a few issues that were fixed immediately after I reported them. The lighting is also great, I've been to hotels that provide very little lighting. It can also be switched on or off from pretty much every button, which is very convenient. There are also outlets right next to the bed. The nightstands and closet have plenty of room as well, and you always get two bottles of water every time they clean your room.

The toilet paper is the kind that leaves residue. I had quite a bit of trouble with the efficacy of the AC, especially when the light went out due to heavy rain. And the toilet had a crack that pinched me when I first arrived and drew blood, but they fixed it quickly.

I was really impressed with this hotel. The staff, location, room and room service were perfect.

The manager for the restaurant on our final day for breakfast ( Friday morning) was rude to the workers and micromanaging them to the point that you could feel the difference in the atmosphere. All other days when we didn't see him, staff was smiling, attentive, and the dining experience was really pleasant. The final day, it was like a cloud came down on everyone. They were still attentive, but you could tell something was off. Whoever that manager in the restaurant was on Friday the 6th in morning is toxic to your working environment.

This was my first time staying in this hotel. It was very comfortable (I think fairly new) and the staff were excellent and attentive. The location of the hotel is about a 15 minute Uber ride to centro and that was fine with us not to have to drive in the Guadalajara traffic. There are a couple of nearby restaurants and we had a very nice Italian dinner just steps from the front door. On site parking was very easy. All in all, it was a very nice stay.

The neighborhood around the hotel is a bit sketchy with some abandoned buildings. We walked in the evening and felt fine but I probably wouldn't stray too far from the hotel and the nearby restaurants.

We love staying here as it is close to all te mayjor attractions , the rooms are nicely decorated and beds very comfy, we like the room service.they only offer a buffet in the mornings it is well priced however it would be nice if they allowed ordering a breakfast off the menu ! You can order breakfast to your room! Front desk super accommodating , bell boys always friendly !

The only thing I would say I did not like is the hotel did not have a la cart for breakfast the choice to order a simple breakfast off the menu . They only have buffet so we order room service on many days instead ! Great prices and fresh food !

1) The location is unbeatable, there's a convenience store nearby, a food court, and Centro Magno, a small mall. 2) The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable, and the shower is great, with good pressure and temperature. 3) The staff are amazing, and go out of their way to help. 4) The breakfast is fantastic, if a bit pricey.

1) I had a corner room and, while it was spacious, it was rather noisy at night. 2) The pool was cold and dirty, which is weird, considering the rest of the hotel is spotless. 3) The sheets would always get tangled and the blanket would escape the blanket case every night.

We stayed here several nights, and it was obvious that this hotel is managed very well. The staff were friendly, caring, and professional. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The room we got was perfectly clean, modern, and nicely decorated. Lots of natural light and fresh air thanks to balcony door in the room. Comfortable bed and bedding. Good quality sheets and towels, and clean without any stains. Spacious bathroom and shower with great water pressure and availability of hot water. Complementary bottles of water are provided in the room. The room had a good, working safe. We were able to sleep well - no problems with any noise from neighboring guests or hallways. Beautiful hotel lobby and nicely decorated and maintained common areas, like hallways, gym, and pool area. Very good location with easy access to different parts of Guadalajara, nearby stores and restaurants, and safe neighborhood for good walkability. Very good price for the value received. Definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying at this hotel again. Please keep up the excellent service!

Nothing. Everything was really good.

The hotel is in a central location. There are a lot of walkable cafes around. The staff is courteous, good facilities, room service is almost available 24 hours. Balcony was a live saver for someone who wants fresh air every now and then. The room has a nice view too.

The hotel as such was perfect but lacks a few basic amenities in the room for a stay more than one week - a fridge.

Friendly staff (service is one of the most important things to me and I really felt welcomed and taken cared of). The room had a comfortable bed and all the basics I needed as advertised (coffee maker with good coffee, 2 small water bottles, iron w/board, safe), there is plenty of electrical outlets which are placed right where you would need them + a big flat screen that could be moved to your preferred angle.

The windows at my room were wall sized and a corner wasn’t fully covered but nothing to worry about, even though it was on the 1st floor, it was a big room and probably there wasn’t too much visibility from the outside anyway.

pretty hotel with helpful, friendly staff. a lot of business travellers but families too. good location, with restaurants & services in the area.

the rooms in the front of the hotel can receive substantial noise from the avenue, going all night. If you are a light sleeper/ sensitive to sounds, then it's worth it to pay more for a room with balcony (which are located on the opposite side of the hotel)
