beautiful and fascinating, the ambience is nice and i like the quiteness..perfect for anyone who wants to come out of urban areas

everything was great..except its not quite suitable for senior citizen as it got so many stairs and the stairs are quite steep..thats all

The restoration & maintenance of these heritage houses needs someone with strong lasting passion to do so. I am truly appreciative to the Resort owner, Mr. Alex Lim for bringing the historical glory moments to us. To me, it is the story behind of these houses and the craftmanship which make this an attractive place. It is also a surprise to see such historical place next to a beach. The landscaping, the simple yet beautiful food display when food is served, the details provided in the house for guest convenience are well planned. The ever smiling and friendly staff make you feel so welcome. They are not fluent in English but you could feel that they are ever ready to serve you.

Need more publicity of the story such as the article found in the Star newspaper in year 2008, ''PASSION FOR PERSERVATION" at the resort, perhaps in every house. This allow every guest to understand, appreciate & do less harm to the old houses as much as the owner & the workers do.

a unique stay with a filling breakfast and the beach is just out the main entrance . bare in mind tho that there is no WiFi and internet connection was almost non existent but perfect if you need a getaway but maybe take that into account if you’re on a workcation. perfect little getaway

if you have little ones try and book villas near the main pool if not the other villas out back is quit a walk away and is dimly lit.

The houses were amazing- the cost of the upkeep must be horrendous! loved the wooden bath, pool and four poster bed.

It was a bit quiet as we were the only ones there for most of the time. Tours needed a min of 4 people to run- we would have liked to have done at least one trip out. Traditional food was nice.

Don't be deceived by the limited choices at breakfast; each item is prepared with exquisite taste and quality. They are bursting with mouthwatering flavors.

Considering that the room tends to get warm in the afternoon, it is advisable to activate the air conditioning prior to the guest's arrival

I love the secluded location, palatial ambience and room decoration. True to its name, the deco is reminiscent of old malay houses of Terengganu. The food was marvelous! I definitely recommend their keropok lekor and roti kayu keramat. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The fact that there was no wifi bothered me at first but I was glad to be 'offline' for a couple of days.

The location and surrounding is peaceful. Unique staying experience. Warm and friendly staff. Easy check in and check out process. Accommodating staff

Need to bring luggage quite for a distance, anyhow staff able to assist. To recommend to use cart/wheel barrow/small buggy/ATV to bring luggage to the house.

They served a simple breakfast during the stay. The place is secluded and traditionally built with malay heritage

No wifi

The heritage feel and gallery that exhibits antiques were educational. The welcome drinks and keropok, the breakfast was good as well. Love that it's near the Penarik beach and it has a ver nice ambiance at night- the pool, the nature that surrounds it. We were able to relax and look at birds from where we had our breakfast, and observe cows returning from the fields.

There are a lot of mosquitoes, understandable since it's near the wetlands. The net for the bed that covers the top of the bed frame though meant that there was not enough wind blowing through from the ceiling fan, and can be a bit hot where we slept, especially during the day. The cloth at the top of the bed frame could also be washed more often as it looked a bit stained and dusty. Other items on the tables also could be cleaned or dusted better- not sure if it looks that way cause it's old but better maintenance will help to make it look more well kept with the price we paid for the rooms.
