Akasaka Granbell Hotel

The location is unbeatable, a few minute walk to 2 subway stations and the area is cute with narrow streets and lower buildings, lively with after work professional crowd. We had everything we needed for a 5-day stay: decent size room, great shower and tub, and somehow the simple continental breakfast was just right for me: different selection of fresh pastries and rolls every day (use the toaster to heat them up), some OJ and coffee. The staff was super friendly and helped us with calling cabs.

The hotel is a bit dated by now, but they are gradually renovating (a whole floor was under renovation while we were there in Nov 2023). Obviously for this price there were no facilities (no gym, onsen, restaurant), but it didn't bother us.

Excellent location for exploring Tokyo by subway, as Akasaka-Mitsuke station is nearby and very well connected in the train network. Loads of good food options up and down the street. Breakfast is Western style only and must be consumed in the hotel room - but we were happy with what was offered and with quality. Everything clean in this hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a bar on the ground floor of the building, but we did not hear any noise in our rooms that were on the 5th and 7th floor. As two adults with two kids, we booked two separate rooms for our first stay at this hotel. We went on to Western Honshu, and after that we came back. For this second stay, we booked a larger room for the four of us. Advantages: more space, foot-massage device, larger bathroom.

As two adults with two kids, we booked two rooms. Room are rather small - which is standard in Tokyo if you are looking for hotels in this price range.

Super nearby the subway that connects with many important places like tokyo station, ginza, shibuya, ikebukuro etc! Staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable and they provide a lot of different amenities which i like! free (small) breakfast was a nice touch as well as complimentary water (stay hydrated!)

The room was small so it wouldn't fit too many luggage inside however for me it wasn't a major problem. It may be a little bit noisy outside as i was facing the street but it wasn't a major issue.

The price I paid was really good. Location was great, only like a two minute walk from the train station. Lots of food options around. Also close to 7-Eleven and Family Mart. Bathroom and bidet were nice, too. They supplied me with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, tooth brush, and a bunch of other stuff. Lobby provided free water and breakfast in the morning.

Only had a couple gripes. There was one outlet, couldn't power my laptop and charge my phone at the same time. Secondly, all the cabinets already had stuff in them so I couldn't really organize my luggage.

The staff was super helpful and attentive. The hotel is clean and neat. When I declined the daily room cleaning, new towels and sleeping robes were placed in front of the door, waiting for me. Breakfast included a variety of quality bread. Coffee, juices, and water provided. Chilled water bottles are available 24hrs in the lobby. I always grabbed 1 on my way out and 2 on the way in. It is a couple of minute walk to the Akasaka station, very accessible.

I like everything about this place.

The location was perfect. Close to several metro lines, restaurants, bars, supermarkets and karaoke. It is a lively neighbourhood, but you can still enjoy a quiet night rest. The room was more spacious than I thought. I had a corner room which gave plenty of natural light! Little extra: the skincare items they provide for free!

The hotel could work on sustainability: the room temperature was set to 23 (!) degrees Celsius. Also in European hotels it is quite common to tell the cleaning staff that you are okay with keeping your towels for a second wash. The Granbell changed towels everyday which is not so great for the environment.

Perfect location for us, near train station to get to anywhere around. Having hot beverages at any point of the day and wonderful little breakfast spread to start the day. Will definitely stay here again when we come to Tokyo.

A little small for 2 people with luggage but was expected of the hotels in Japan.

I liked the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms. Everyday the room was perfectly clean when we got back to the hotel. I really loved the water provided for free and the specialty coffee was also very good. The location of the hotel is ideal with everything you need right within reach.

The breakfast was very light as advertised, but even one or two choices of fruit would have made it a very good breakfast.

The shower was amazing! Amazing water pressure and hot water! Great after long days of walking the streets of Tokyo. Location of the hotel is also great! Close to the subway, restaurants, and bars. Staff was also very friendly and helpful.

The king size bed was a bit hard and the room itself was small for American standards.
