Hotel Torino Porta Susa

The staff was excellent; everyone was nice and accommodating and professional. No attitude at all. Very clean. The water pressure in the shower was great and the bathroom was very comfortable. The bed was also very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was an excellent value with a wide variety of choices. The coffee was excellent as was expected from being in Torino. It is about a 30 minute walk to the center or to the Egyptian museum. So for me, as I walk everywhere, it was great.

As was to be expected, It is a few blocks away from major train station so sometimes a little noisy with the trams running. There were no great restaurants in that immediate area but the beer garden across the street is surprisingly good and is where you will find a lot of locals. There is no nightlife in the area if that is what you’re looking for. The only thing in my room was that TV did not work so I was not able to get any local news etc.

The hotel is close to Porta Susa Station (clue in the name!), excellent for train links to Paris and to Milan, Venice etc. It is easy to walk into the historic centre, or take the Metro. Our room faced on to a quiet courtyard with a balcony, so it was quiet. The breakfast area includes an outside space on the top of one of the porticos that cross the streets in Torino, enhanced by flowers and bushes. We left for the early Paris train before breakfast, but the food looked satisfying and ample, including savoury as well as sweet choices, nuts as well as fresh fruit salad. I would stay again and ask for an early breakfast! The lovely staff made coffee for us. The hotel is on the second floor of an old building with some character, and a small but efficient lift. The room was comfortable, simply furnished with everything we needed.

Breakfast - a reasonable continental but excellent value at €4 per person. Location - a bit of a walk to the main sites but quick by bus or tram. It is a couple of hundred metres from the Porta Susa train station which is how we arrived and left. The staff were all helpful. Our entrance lobby was larger than most rooms we have stayed in. Overall this was the largest bedroom plus shower room we've ever had. Clearly in converting the original 19th century apartment building into hotel rooms they had chosen not to divide the original rooms. Arriving late at night I was delighted when the patron of the local Caffe opened a bottle of Barolo so that I could have a single glass as a nightcap.

Lack of room safe. This made sorting out what needed to be taken or left each day a bit of a faff. The very convenient (and noisy) trams mentioned before seemed to start running on weekdays at 6 a.m. So, no need for an alarm clock. Rather than having an old room key attached to a block of wood or a modern electronic key card management had chosen to install a steam punk system that required having to get staff more than once to redemonstrate. Other guests appeared to be having this problem.

Location was convenient although a little hard to find if you don't know what you are looking for. But only a 5 minute walk from Porta Susa station. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the facilities were very clean. Because of our reservation of two rooms, they were kind enough to give us our own apartment for our family to stay in, which was beautiful.

The elevator was very small so you had to choose between waiting or taking the stairs which added up when we were staying on the fourth floor. But not impossible.

Lovely spotlessly clean room with plenty of space, just a short walk from the railway station. The shower was good and the bed comfortable. The staff were very friendly and efficient and we enjoyed our buffet breakfast in a lovely bright room. Also Turin main centre is a 10 minute walk so we were able to sightsee even though we were just on an overnight stay. Good value for money and we would highly recommend.

Couldn't find any faults

Exceptional property for my last minute stay in Torino. Easy few min walk from the train station. Nice location near shops, restaurants, bars. Staff were friendly and helpful during seamless check-in experience. Very secure historic building w great character and ambience. My room exceeded my expectations as I received a complimentary upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite with a refrigerator and kitchen area. Overall fantastic stay.

Little bit of lingering cigarette smell as I think perhaps people smoke out the room windows rather than go all the way down from the 5th floor to the outside.

The room was a good size with a lovely double bed. Although I only stayed one night I would use the hotel again. The bathroom was very large with an excellent size walk in shower. My room over looked the main street and you could hear the trams going back and forth. Personally I didn't mind this but if you are a light sleeper you may wish to ask for a different room. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the Torino Porta Susa train station and 15 minutes from the Royal Palace.

There was nothing I didn't like.

Spacious room, well equipped. Very good breakfast enjoyed on delightful terrace. Helpful and friendly staff. Unusual format of hotel comprised of rooms in apartment building. Good location for exploring Turin and for access to transport.

Would have been helpful to be told in advance that reception is at second floor level accessed by lift. Our fifth floor room had sloping ceiling under the roof and we had to be careful not to bang our heads.

we were in the attic bedroom, floor 5 - very quiet with an air conditioner, fridge and separate sitting area. The hotel is in a typical Italian apartment & we have always wondered what is is like to stay/live in one. There is a great breakfast selection that you can have sitting on the balcony over the street, surrounded by greenery. we like the hotel location nearby to the metro station XVIII Dicembre. There are plenty of shops, Carrefour, cafes and gelateria around & we felt we were not in a touristy area.

Attic bedroom - hot even with air conditioner on & sloping ceilings.

The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Porta Susa station and you can find it on the second floor.Lift available.Everything what you just need is nearby.Shops,cafes,bars.The center is an easy 15 min walk,well worth it.Pleanty of option for travel.Trams,buses,metro,taxi.Everything is well organized and available in your doorstep.The rooms are comfy,the staff are friendly,welcoming and helpful.The breakfast was delicious and you can enjoy it on a terrace.I would stay here again.

An electric tea kettle could be useful in the room.
