Borgo Castello Panicaglia

Everything was absolutely perfect. Beautifully restored in 2019 with comfortable and so stylish interiors and poolside. Kind and thoughtful service. Wonderful breakfasts and meals. Super value. We are planning a return trip!

Absolutely nothing

The location was amazing and the staff made it very special. The food and the wine made it even more special. The room we stayed in was one of the smaller ones but was still large and very beautiful. An absolute place I want to visit again.

Everything was great and nice. It was one of my best place to stay. No need to go out as everything is in the hotel. The breakfast was free and it was very great. you can have lunch and dinner at the location with very reasonable prices and the food was very very very nice as we enjoyed all receips and even the appetizers were super delicious. Safe place and different facilitis for kids to enjoy their stay. Our kids were having freedom to move alone within the hotel. The staff were very supportive and they even took care of our kids food when they went to have breakfast by their own selves. Umbria itself was very beatiful place and unfortunately not well known as Tuscany however it is not less than Tuscany at all and generally cheaper. In the summer, you can enjoy food outside enjoying the super refreshing environment. This is well recommended place to stay for at least two days. I would like to thank all the staff for their kindness and support and forbthe nice food and coffee as well.

There are some insects due to nature of place and building style

The best hospitality and food we had in Italy, and I've been to Italy more than 15 times; all the people from Panicaglia were genuinely kind and super friendly with us. We've been with a 2-year-old, and they made us feel at home. Also, they were super helpful after we left too, as we forgot something at the castle and they took care to send them 200km distance. I will definitely come back!

Our bathroom was super small and the only one in a 70m apartment. Also, I was thinking we'll get a room with a swing, but I think that's available in only one room.

Great location, excellent staff and comfortable rooms.

No info on arrival re: breakfast, lunch or dinner times. We also had issues with water pressure and, at times, no water or no hot water. On telling the staff, we were told the low pressure/no water was due to external works - but again, it would’ve been very helpful to be told of this from the outset.

If you come in the late evening, the road leading there is decorated with adorable lights that go straight to the Borgo, offering an amazing first impression. The most impressive things were perhaps the internal and external design, and the friendliness of the staff. They are there to service your every need and are more than happy to tell you more about the place and the surroundings. We learned that the Borgo is an authentic villa built already in the 14th century, and the interior design complements this style with modern fashion. The dishes are all culinary masterpieces and everything is home-made from local ingredients - you can even watch the food being prepared during dinner!

There is nothing that the place itself can improve - however, the Borgo is quite remote, so you will need a car if you plan on going exploring, as the local connections aren't that great.

The room we stayed in is perfect for the family of 5, with 2 bedrooms. The design is very cosy and nice. The restaurant food was great, we had two dinners there during our 2 nights stay. The service is excellent. Beautiful property and there are a lot of things to see, example is little town Gubbio in 30 min drive, winery and olive oil plantation.

The only problem on the first night we realised that the heater system installed in the wardrobe and it makes noise at night. we could not sleep. Next night we turned it off and it was excellent.

the dinner and waiting tables was a hit chaotic, we felt the restaurant staff was a little bit amateur. it felt like too many people to handle even though there were plenty of servers. our room had a little bit of an insect problem, understandable as we were in the middle of the hills, however paying what we paid for the stay, you wouldn’t expect this.

i just liked everything in this hotel! from the design to the service you get in every corner in the hotel.. the pool is amazing, the hotel is very uniqe and you can come to relax, have a very good food with bio products from their vegtables garden. the bed is very comfortable, the shower is very good too and the room was big.

the location is good if you just come to be far from the city and relax. i didn't find that the small twons nearby was atractive, although i tried a very good restaurant around...

Super-nice place, in the real woods of Umbria. Calm, quiet and romantic hotel with an excellent restaurant! Perfect place to relax and disconnect of the routine! The perfect escape to visit Gubbio, Assisi and surroundings!
