Hotel Alla Corte degli Angeli

The location is wonderful. Close to everything. It’s an old building but has been refreshed. It was clean and comfortable. Had everything I needed. Nothing missing. Staff were so kind and helpful. Just wonderful. Nice breakfast. Parking is in an outside lot.

Some mold and corrosion in shower and shower door. I don’t think the spa tub or TV in bathroom go with the style of the hotel or rooms and I don’t think they are necessary. Bathroom mirror too high. I kind of had to stand on my toes to use the mirror and put on makeup. Hair dryer old style. Works but not hot enough. These are not very important things. Oh, don’t park your car under the tree in the lot. My clean car got dirty and had a ton of bird poop on it! Windshield too. I had to try to clean it to see. plus, it’s embarrassing. What a nightmare.

this is a well-loved and well managed establishment in a great location, so easy to walk around Lucca from here. The hotel has safe, private parking that is reasonably priced. the room was very charming with custom frescos painted on the walls. Breakfast was very nice and the staff was very hospitable. It isn’t overly fancy, but was well appointed with everything we needed. We loved it.

Americans (like us) might find the parking a bit challenging as roads to hotel are tight. But, we did as directed and pulled up to hotel and then they let us into the gated parking area. Our rental car sure felt safe.

In our week long trip to Italy, this was our favourite! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home, the room was beautiful with everything we needed, comfy bed, lovely large bathroom, exceptionally clean, Breakfast in the little courtyard was wonderful and a huge selection to choose from. Staff are very knowledgeable about Lucca and recommended a beautiful restaurant for us for dinner that evening. We will be returning to Lucca and I will definitely be booking this hotel again next year.

Absolutely nothing!

Staff very helpful and welcoming. Car parking facility fantastic. Very useful instructions on how to find the hotel and car park. The hotel is within the city walls and as such in a restricted zone for cars with very narrow streets, which in itself can be a stressful experience. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Such a massive choice of options, all of a high standard.

It would have been helpful if the directions for exiting the car park were as clear as those for entering. Perhaps a typed series of detailed instructions.

Lovely place to stay in Lucca! On a quiet street yet in walking distance to pretty much anything in Lucca. Paolo checked me in and he is so friendly and welcoming! Gave me a great recommendation for a last minute dinner as well. The building is quaint, the room very spacious and decorated in a unique and beautiful manner, and a hearty breakfast available which wasn't the case with all of my stays. The staff was also beyond amazing in helping me getting a taxi when none were available to catch my train - and then getting me my mobile that I left there!

The hotel was delightful. Very authentic and comfortable ... a cosy and welcoming haven to return to from the cold. The location was perfect for exploring Lucca. A visit to Lucca is a must, and Hotel Alla Corte degli Angeli is definitely the place to stay.

I was pleased I travelled with just one small suitcase as the room was quite small. And more of a surprise than a dislike... there were no tea making facilities and I was surprised to see my cup of tea on the bill when I checked out.

A pleasant hotel in a tiny lane off the main shopping street of the city. Short walk to many of the main sights. Helpful staff. Comfortable room.

Really difficult to get taxis to and from the railway station, which is too far to walk with luggage. (This is, of course, not the fault of the hotel. but perhaps the hotel could have some arrangement with a taxi firm or owner. )

Everything about this property was superb. The owners/hotel staff are so helpful and wonderful -- impeccably dressed and well-spoken -- and the rooms are spacious. The breakfast is really. Sit out in the quaint courtyard and enjoy a cup of coffee and a croissant before exploring Lucca. And if you're after a good winery/wine tasting closeby, the staff suggested Fattoria Saudi which was excellent.

The breakfast was fantastic. The location was great. We only stayed one night.... it was lovely.

The directions for driving in were a little difficult to follow, and I got lost. And then I was kind of scolded when I mentioned the difficulty ("you should always message the property in advance".... I did, but the directions could have been more clear! Also, it was dark, and it was our first time driving in Italy). If you are driving in and using their parking lot, know that the street is TINY, easy to miss, and you need to look up for the street names.

The hotel is in a superb location. just minutes walk to all attractions in center Lucca. Interactions with staff were efficient and satisfying. They helped my reserve dinner and find local transportation. The room is spacious and the bathroom is extremely comfortable with a walk in shower and a jacuzzi and TV. AC is good.

The breakfast could be better by adding hot selections and more coffee varieties (e.g. espresso). My room was on the first floor near the stairs and in the morning I could hear people outside but not to an extreme degree.
