20 Miglia Boutique Hotel

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel, and I would recommend it to others. The breakfast buffet offered a reasonable selection, and the lady who attended to us in the restaurant was polite and kind. Our room was clean and quiet, which made for a comfortable stay. The hotel provided adequate (paid) parking space right in front of the building, which was convenient. The Wi-Fi service was functional and met our expectations, allowing us to stay connected during our visit. The shower was also quite satisfactory.

Despite the hotel's generally positive attributes, we did experience some concerns regarding the location. Although it is just a short walk from the city center, the surrounding area can feel rather unsafe at night. We noticed some damaged or looted cars and encountered questionable individuals who seemed to be causing trouble or harassing passersby. As a result, we did not feel completely secure venturing out after dark. To avoid this issue, I would advise future guests to stay clear of Via Monsignor Ventimiglia, particularly when heading south at night. Instead, consider taking a route towards Via Umberto I (north) to access Via Etnea, as these streets tend to be safer and benefit from more frequent police patrols.

The location of the hotel was great for us. 2 min of walk from Mercato di piazza Carlo Alberto which is a great bazaar. 3 minutes to the Metro which is nice if you want to go to the more local side of catania. 8 minutes to via Etna. The staff of the hotel was Great. The Lady in charge of the Dining room is a true professional in the art of making hot drinks. The cleaning and the rearrangement of the chambermaids was a delight experience. Last but not least the receptionists, who were very welcoming and nice. I would like to make a special thanks to Vanessa the receptionist who was very kind and helpful. When we wanted to go on a guided tour she was attentive to our needs and made an effort to find us a tour that fit to our needs and on lowest price. She gave us the impression that our pleasure was her mission.

Very friendly staff, very clean hotel, good proximity to the city center. Amazingly comfortable bed, which is actually really untypical for hotels. Decent breakfast, but I would recommend going to a local cafe and spending the extra money on local treats.

The hotel is located some 10 min by foot from Via Etnea and this is great. The issue is that the moment you go off of Via Etnea, the further out you go, the more trash you will find on the streets. And the area around the hotel was no exception. In fact the hotel itself is like an oasis in this area. We didn't feel that it was dangerous or something like this, but just very dirty.

staff were excellent, so helpful and friendly. lots of recommendations and every restaurant they suggested was fantastic. Such lovely people.

This is a super cozy boutique hotel in an old building that has been well maintained. We stayed in the suite, with two balconies and a large bathroom with a bathtub. The hotel is within 5 minutes walking distance to the restaurants and bars in Via Santa Filomena. Delicious simple breakfast with really good coffee. A modern hotel in an old building, where the old details have been preserved.

The neighborhood where the hotel is located is worn and the view from the hotel is not the best - it is next to a large empty lot.

Spotlessly clean, great shower, good bed, friendly staff, beaut breakfast and good service, a good spot to take tours to Mt Etna, the local market is nearby and a great experience of fresh fish and produce early in the morning

There was quite a lot of noise at night, banging of doors till 4 am. Someone has been smoking outside our room during the night, left broken cigarettes and tobacco on the table directly outside our room. I would recommend making sure doors are locked and earplugs in.

Location had a lot of rubbish and derelict buildings around it so was a bit intimidating for a lone traveller

We only stayed for one night. The hotel is situated a bit of a walk from the centre. However, the staff and in particular Vanessa, were really helpful and friendly. We had to leave at 4.30am and Vanessa organised a breakfast pack for us to take, plus she phoned and confirmed our transfer booked for 4.30am to the airport. Nothing was too much trouble.

Breakfast was very good, hotel is clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, room was large and bathroom was very nice. Staff always friendly. The location is rather central, so that everything is just a 5min walk away.

The specific neighborhood of the hotel is a mess, there is rubbish everywhere on the road to a level which is not acceptable in a European city. This is obviously not the hotel's fault, so our ranking is only marginally lower because of that. Still, it's something that left the only negative feeling about our stay.

We had a room with a balcony. Hotel is super clean and the staff is very nice. I travelled by Car and was provided with a safe parking spot. Breakfast is very good. The hotel is only 2 minutes walk to the market. We enjoyed the stay very much. Room very quiet. Only 7 minutes walk to via Etnea. Despite what I read from other reviews, the location is very good and safe to walk with my family. Will visit again.
