Clybaun Hotel

Gorgeous room, excellent food, leisure facilities adequate, friendly and helpful staff on desk (checkin and out) and Aaron was particularly helpful as a porter among his numerous other duties!

Re LEISURE CENTRE ONLY - not hotel! Pool is run by a different owner. Raised a concern/issue at pool & gym sign-in desk which wasn't responded to at all, and the person on the desk took a call mid conversation. Apart from being downright rude, it was a blatant disregard for customer service of any kind. Note that this is not a reflection on the hotel but NRG who run the leisure centre.

Everything, could not fault it, from the staff, to the cleanliness of the room, to the food, to the location it was really great.

Only issue I had was the pool was freezing, and not just the water but the whole pool area, it was really really cold

Lovely modern hotel, great location in Salthill. Great restaurant, food was fantastic if a bit pricey. Room was a great size and very comfortable. Plenty of parking. Gym and pool very good.

Cleaning of the room wasn’t great, cleaned the bathroom but not the actual room properly. Also left their cleaning stuff in the bathroom two days in a row and the list of rooms to be cleaned / were cleaned incl. noting the ‘VIPs’ and what rooms they were in. Pool was ok and basic, would be better for hotel guests to enter and exit the changing rooms without having to walk through the gym and pass all the gym goers. Service in restaurant slow but food was excellent.

Everything was great … very pleasantly surprised. It was great location and super quiet at night. We used pool and gym . Ate in the bar / restaurant which was good. Staff amazing came to room with little box of chocolates and congrats note to our daughter who was graduating University. Definitely recommend this hotel . Well done management to have such a lovely team of staff. Ps This hotel ect was cheaper than any AirB+B And any one of them close in price was 30 minutes away from Galway City.

No A/ C in room so with 3 full grown bodies in one room it became just a bit too hot .

We traveled from New Zealand and stayed for two nights. The hotel and room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel appears reasonably new so we were extremely disappointed with the pressure of the shower. Such a shame to pay decent money and have nice facilities but not have decent water pressure. At the end of a days sight seeing you look forward to having a nice shower, but doesn’t deliver on yr expectations.

The shower pressure is essentially non existent. Such a shame to have a nice sized room in a very clean and tidy hotel to not have a decent shower.

Room was really lovely, nice decor, perfect bathroom. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Rooms, corridors and hotel in general were spotless. Pool was a good size and all facilities were very good.

Breakfast is until 11 which is a bonus when you’re away. We came down at 10:30 but choices were limited at that stage on Wednesday and Thursday. It was much better on the Friday. Whilst we enjoyed our stay, our three nights b&b cost us over €800. This was one of the cheapest deals we found, but it really is just very expensive to stay in Ireland.

We stayed in a family room which was ideal for us. There was a smart TV with Netflix and a HDMI port meaning we could plug in our Now TV stick also. The room was comfortable and clean. We had access to plenty of fresh towels and the usual toiletries. It was quiet warm on our first night but we unclipped the child proof lock on the windows and with some fresh air it cooled right down. All in all it was a nice spot for families.

Definitely not deal breakers by any means but the water pressure in the shower wasn't great and we weren't made aware that swimming lessons were taking place when we went to use the pool (although we had enquired about using it the previous night) which meant one of our party didn't really enjoy it as he was much too small for the main pool area. It might just be an idea to make that clear upon check to parties with small children. There was also no telephone in our room so we had to make our way down to reception with any queries.

Quiet spot outside of Galway but close enough to go into town. The rooms were clean and large and it was a nice place. The restaurant was decently priced and had good food (fairly small portions for main meals though).

The only reason I felt it was misleading is because the hotel gym and hot tub is actually a public gym attached to the hotel. So it was extremely crowded with locals, not to mention the pool area was extremely gross with spit out gum and mold all over steam room and it seemed like the floors are never mopped. And I was told I couldn't use my phone in the hot tub which has never been told to me before as a hotel patron... Haha . Quite silly. I booked this place especially for gym and hot tub which is why I was disappointed.
