The location is great - only 15 minutes walk to the heart of shopping in Ubud. I believe the hotel also offers a shuttle service to the Main Street. We loved the comfortable bed, the traditional style of the hotel and the beautiful rooms, and the truly lovely and helpful staff. The breakfast and meals were delicious. In particular we were thrilled we had booked ahead for Dinner on the Bridge. It is a private dinner just for two and this is available to one couple only each night. The service was superb with a dedicated waiter, the bridge was beautifully decorated with lots of flower petals and a myriad of candles and little lights, and the feast of four courses (we had the Western menu) was truly delicious for a very reasonable price. It was a very lovely stay and we heartily recommend staying here.

Breakfast was a good offer

We both had items stolen from our room ! After shave and undies !! The pillows were also not fantastic but the bed was really comfy. the setting is a paradise but the food could be worked on . We both. loved the river private dinner ( although food could be improved ) Don’t stay here if you don’t want to tackle lots of stairs which we didn’t mind . Overall a great stay

Had not been to the hotel for 20 years and it had not changed much in that time, in a good way. We love the location, just out of town (about a 10-15 minute walk) and on the side of the river. It is very green and pleasant, and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Pool was great (suggest you request a room near the main pool). Restaurant was great for one dinner and our breakfasts which had a decent range. Loved our room with a small terrace to be able to sit outside. Aircon worked well and bathroom was adequate. Good public lounges. Great staff who were helpful and friendly.

Beds could have been a little more comfortable (softer) but being picky. Warning that there are a lot of stairs which we didn't mind but it is definitely something to be aware of for the unfit or disabled.

Set in beautiful surroundings this original Ubud spa (opened 1928) still stands up well. Service was fantastic and meals were great. It is close to Ubud town (a 1 km walk to the centre of town). Also very near the start of the Champuhan Ridge walk which made a great start to our day a number of times.

Some people will have problems with the many stairs in this hotel that cascades down the ravine to the river (they didn't worry us). If so ask for a room up at reception level. You will still need the climb quite a few stairs though to reach the pool

Excellent location and lovely grounds. Spacious and comfortable room. Mr Astra and his staff do everything possible to assist in making stay in Ubud exactly as we wanted it.

A few very minor issues with the upkeep i e shower curtains needed replacement. Had no influence on our stay.

This is a great hotel just a few minutes walk from the main Ubud area. It is built into the hill surrounded by lush rainforest. Despite being on the main road, you feel like you are miles away from anywhere and in the forest. You dont hear the traffic. The small creek at the bottom of the hill is constantly running and sends the lovely sound of flowing water through the property. The pool and spa area is terrific. Buffet breakfast was great, and food in general was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

This spa hotel provides price performance if you want to feel Ubud experience yet don't want to pay too much. They arrange special nights in the restaurant to show Indonesian culture. It has a nice spa area with an interesting decoration and a spring pool and a regular pool. We stayed in a very spacious room. Sheets and towels were all clean. Staff was very helpful.

In the room we stayed, the furniture and bathroom should be renewed. I guess they did some kind of pest control while we stayed there as one morning we found 4 giant cocoroach in the room and 2 already death and the other 2 died eventually.

Breakfast very good, location fantastic (close to shops and restaurants). Stunning outlook from rooms. Great balcony overlooking the forest.

Shower was dodgy, fell down repeatedly and had to be hand held. LOTS of steps, not suitable for anyone who is not fit and able (was fine for us).

This hotel is amazing. From the first moment you arrive it’s like you are in a fairy take jungle. All rooms are little cottages which I found to be amazing. Great Wi-Fi connection through all the property. Big territory to walk around. There is a little bridge that goes over the river and you can have a romantic hike in the jungle (also close to Campuhan Ridgewalk). We tried the massage in the spa overlooking the jungle, was an incredible experience! Everything was amazing during our stay

The food in the restaurant was very bad. I think I’m such a hotel you need to pay a lot of attention to the kitchen, as I didn’t want to go out from the beautiful hotel, but had to because the food on site was really bad 🥲
