Munduk Moding Plantation Nature Resort & Spa

room was lovely, pool was great. spa amazing too. Food very good. Quiet relaxing stay.

The only issue with this place, which is nothing to do with the hotel, is the incessant photographs from other guests on the pool. Having your breakfast while a couple is doing a cringey 20 minute photoshoot 5 metres next to you is so awkward (check geotag on Instagram, it’s relentless and speaks to other places in Bali). If the hotel could put a no photo hour at least while people are eating that would be perfect

The villa with the pool and jacuzzi exceeded my expectation and the view was amazing. Everything about the villa was on spot. If you decide to book this hotel I recommend going with villa with private pool and jacuzzi. The resort had several facilities such as coffee plantaion, 2 pools, 2 restaurants, gym, and tennis courts and horse stable. The breakfast was okayish. The staff are super friendly and smiling all the time.

They dont have any telephone line in the whole resort however they will provide you their whatsapp number and you can text them at any time for any room service. We booked for strongest pressure massage in the resort spa however it was not worth the money and it was very bad. Its just a relaxtion massage wothout any putting any pressure on your body.

All the staff were very attentive, sincere and always with a smile. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner cos the food was good and not too expensive. Breakfast was especially beautiful (taste & presentation). The massage was excellent and we also enjoyed their free yoga class. Overall their resort area has a well balanced nature. Infinity pools well heated so it was pleasant to swim in the cool climate (1200m above sea level). Stunning beautiful views from there!

Resort staff always keen to ask for feedback on areas for improvement, so I'm very impressed with their ever willingness to improve. Nothing much irks us at all. All good. Well done and keep it up 🙂.

We were at munduk Moding hotel in march (raining season). As it was our first stay in the north of Bali we didn’t exactly know what was expecting us so we ‚only‘ booked 5 nights here. It was raining a lot so we were advised to not do tracking tours to the lakes or waterfalls. Anyhow, the stay at munduk Moding could not get boring! They have so much activities (for free) to offer at the hotel, which are really interesting and fun. This hotel did not only convince with extraordinary service and friendliness but also with the sustainability concept. Before our stay at munduk moding we were at Lombok so we know the problem with garbage over there. So we were really impressed that munduk moding has such a good sustainability program. E.g They reuse their whole cooking oil for candles and sopes (for making these you can also join a workshop at the hotel ), they have an own recycling plant, they buy plastic waste from locals for recycling, they offer an English class for local children and the only thing they have to bring is plastic waste (as a payment). Also we were happy to hear that the Luwak coffee they make is collected from wild living luwaks because they want to avoid bad livestock farming. For all sustainability programs they offer workshops and tours which are really interesting. Also the staff is well educated in sustainability issues. As they have their own coffee plantation, we also did the coffee tour which was so fun, especially the coffee tasting at the end with the guys at the coffee shop of which we unfortunately forgot the names. We booked the one bedroom villa with jungle view which was stunning! The view! Wow! We liked a lot that the hotel complex is built extensively within the jungle. So you can enjoy undisturbed couple times. The pool area is also beautiful with one of the top ten infinity pools worldwide (which is no exaggeration) Especially the sunsets are stunning.

nothing, everything’s perfect

Everything was so amazing! Step off the rat race and into a world of calm bliss. We couldn't fault the staff we have made friends during our stay. The facilities, the view, the spa are stunning. Defiantley want to return and with family next time. Highly recommend meeting the children for their English lesson the company provide free if they hand in plastic bottles. This place is so eco conscious. The staff cannot do enough to help provide you with a an unforgettable stay. If you need time to recharge this is the place for your next stay. They will even help provide you with tours to the beautiful places surrounding. Once place not to be missed.

Truly nothing to complain about

You can have an incredible experience in Munduk with a much lower cost, compared with many other popular resorts. You can have the gorgeous view of mountains and sea at the same time. The infinite swimming pool is naturally distilled into the beautiful sky, clouds mountains and everything around. We also really enjoy the fragrant smell of the resort. That is the original fragrance from the plantation and flowers inside Munduk, which is really rare. The designer of the villas definitely have an impeccable taste. And you can wake up with the sunlight, wind and birds every morning, which makes you feel like you are sleeping in nature. Not like other villas in Bali, you can also have the best privacy here in Munduk. You can even find the romantic decorations of fresh flowers everywhere inside the room. We also really enjoyed the combination of hot spring and infinite swimming pool at our villa. It is so cool to enjoy the galaxy in the bath of hot spring, when you just move from the swimming pool. There are also many interesting activities arranged everyday and most of them are free. It is pity that we don’t have enough time to go through all of them. The food and drinks are so good in their two restaurants. It’s very delicious and healthy. We got substantial breakfast and afternoon tea every day, even with the delicious desserts every night. Actually I have some digestive problems so I always want to have some more weight. And I find it is so easy to achieve this goal here! This finding really cheers me up! The spa is also one of the best spas that we have ever had, another is Anaya’s spa, which is 5 times expensive than Munduk. So we had spa almost every day during our stay in Munduk. We are also very moved by the staffs in Munduk. They are very professional and helpful. We really appreciate the care and help from Aguss, Gargita, Rio, Edi, Sri, Wira and many of them… Hopefully we could bring our partners along with us to visit Munduk next time!

Best staff I've ever interacted with at any hotel across the globe. It's beyond just providing excellent service, the staff of Moding are almost all from Munduk and as such you feel like you're joining a community. Everyone makes an effort to learn your name and one thing I loved was how some of the classes/activities offered were proposed and developed by the staff themselves.

Flies! The use of manure as organic Fertilizer across the Plantation is much appreciated from a farming and sustainability point of view, but it resulted in sooo many flies,that were dying everywhere which was both annoying ans unhygienic.

First of all, we never rate 10/10, simply because we believe there is always room for improvement. We rate Munduk Moding Plantation 9,9 out of 10 which means that it is close to perfection but indeed some small points of improvement. So, our stay at Munduk Moding Plantation was truly fantastic. The location is brilliant and deliberately chosen with the views across North Bali, the coast and even Java on a clear day. The hotel and rooms are beautiful, very well designed and local decor. Rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds and comfortable bathing. This all comes with a complementary breakfast to die for. The options on the menu are countless and everything is delicious, fresh and prepared and served with attention. You can have your breakfast in the restaurant or around the pool with views across the surroundings and the coast. There is a daily schedule with activitites that are complimentary as well. Some activities require an additional fee such as the spa; my wife had a very relaxing session with pedicure. From the activities we recommend to do at least the Coffee Plantation Tour. The best thing however is the staff that gives Hospitality a new dimension. Literally every member of staff is friendly and helpful and every member of the team has complete focus on making it the best experience for every customer. A big compliment to the entire staff but especially to Anggun and Dipa and their teams at the restaurant. They even made a vegan dish (sateh from tofu with peanut sauce and fries and salad) on request which was the best dish we had at Munduk Moding Plantation. Resume: we can not wait to go back to Munduk Moding Plantation!

There always some points of improvement. First of all update and upgrade the gym, some machines are dated and a table tennis table does not belong here. Some towels at the pool have bleaching stains, this is unnecessary. And every now and then the Wifi is unstable, we understand this may be a challenge in the mountains but still room for improvement here.

First hotel which really can boast a 5 Star. Wonderful is every aspect. We were at the tamarillo villa, where we had large clean rooms, large and beautiful bathroom. Since it is a bit away from the main part of the hotel, transport is with golf buggy, takes 3 minutes and call service was Balinese way prompt (so 5 min late) Breakfast was menu style and excellent, very good barista at the helm, excellent service. Breakfast in the garden was slower and colder, timing issues. Lunch and dinner were excellent at the main restaurant. Although first time round my rare steak was overdone, so restart. The Balinese restaurant was a try, better than expected, but for gourmet European not to repeat. Manny activities are optional, some free. We did an interesting bird watching.

For once no negatives report, hurray.

Beautiful location overlooking jungle. Grounds could not have been more gorgeous and blended in beautifully with nature.

Staff was so nice but almost overly nice. Loved our room but think the dehumidifier may have made it warm since it got warm inside even though outdoor temps in this areas at night were cooler. We did not report this since we only stayed one night. Great dining options. Wish we had another day to try the other restaurants. More time would have also been helpful to try out the many resort activities. We did birdwatching and the coffee plantation tour. Both impressive.
