ODDSSON Hotel

Well I loved the look of the Hotel. The Check-in is so easy; you get a 4 digit code by Email, which will open the main door and room. As for Check-out, just leave the yellow check-out flyer on the outside handle and away you go. The rooms are modern and clean with a Great shower and decent size TV. The Breakfast was pretty good, but if you're expecting a Fry-up, then think again. I like the fact the Hotel itself, is a pick-up place for tours. Oh there are a few Supermarkets very near, which I used regularly. Oh I nearly forgot, you can drink the Tap water, unless it says otherwise.

Well I'm an introvert, so the lack of staff, didn't bother me, but it may bother others. Yeah, it's a small thing, but a Fry-up as an option for Breakfast would be Awesome. You're far from the center of things, but the Grensas bus stops are just outside the hotel, will bring you to and from the center of things. Use Bus 15 and use the far bus shelter to get into town. Yes, other Buses can do that too, I don't want to complicate things. Download Klapp app to buy smart tickets you can scan on the bus. 550 is the cost of one ticket and it's valid for over an hour, to use again and again. TBH there wasn't much to complain about.

The breakfast was amazing, the room was super clean and comfortable. High seeling provides amplitude to the room, which was not so big. Loved the interior design. Self-check-in was very convenient. Having dinner and drinks options at the hotel was very convenient too, the carbonara spaghetti was great.

We had some issues with regulating the heating temperature. It was way to hot and I would not change, even if we ajusted the heating manually. We had to leave the window ope to compensate. I'd suggest for them to leave some instructions on how to adjust the heater, not all clients come from countries where heaters a common.

Oddsson hotel was an amazing place to stay while in Iceland! I originally chose it because it is the cheapest hotel that had a private bathroom and breakfast included but I was amazed by the hotel. The location was amazing, 5/10 min bus trip into Reykjavik, 5 min walk to a grocery/essentials store and the breakfast was really good too! A little advice though - read the hotel information FULLY before you stay. Lots of reviews complain about cleaning. It’s literally stated in the hotel information that your room is cleaned 6 days into your stay. Also, complaints about clean towels etc in your rooms. It also CLEARLY states that you can grab towels/ other essentials from a cupboard at the end of each floors corridor in the hotel landing area. The only negatives i’ve seen people commenting on are things they would know if they fully read things :)

I genuinely have no complaints.

The hotel was lovely, clean and modern, the staff were brilliant and the breakfast was great! It’s also located close to some lovely restaurants and not far from bus stops that get you into the city quickly and not too expensive.

The only problem with this hotel was the distance from the city Center, it’s about 45-60 minute walk- if you’re confident getting buses, it’s fine, but that adds to your costs, we did use the buses once we had figured them out, but it would be better if it was more central. However, most tour companies will collect you from right outside the door for organised tours!

Breakfast was good, healthy, and plentiful. The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. The shower flooded the bathroom more than once. I had to use multiple towels to keep the floor dry. I would’ve appreciated grab bars in the bathroom and the door on the shower. There were also no rails on the stairs, and since it was snowy and icy, it made going up and down pretty dangerous. The room was comfortable. The beds were soft, and the kitchen was helpful. It was a good bargain for the cost. I would recommend it to other people.

The hotel was very clean, only person we saw on our stay was bar and reception personnel. I was emailed room and code number two days befor I arrived so you go straight to room and tap in number which also works on outside door out of hotel if you are out at night so no receptionist when you arrive .we had to leave at 2.30 in the early hours of the morning to catch our flight home which was no problem just told them the night befor breakfast was included which was continental but you could get scrambled eggs baked beans and tiny sausages as an option .several options for meals on lunch menu which is served to order between 12.00 mid day untill 10.00 in evening all reasonable priced .Also pitsa shop and supermarket acrost Road and Chinese two roads away.I walked into town I'm a slow walker so took me 1 hr but bus stops to and from town nearly opposit hotel costs £3 each way so all in all hotel not badly situated I did not want to be I'm middle of town but only takes 25 mins by car or bus. Anyway great place to stay .friendly polite personel ,very clean plenty for breakfast and good selection for evening meal

The breakfast was very good. We got to make our own waffles. Our room was big. Our sons' room could have been bigger. The shower was great. There wasn't much parking inside the hotel but the street parking was fine. We were a little bit away from the city centre but it didn't make any difference as we had a car and there were lots of shops near us. It was very easy for us to get in and out of Reykjavik. The keyless entry is great as we could come and go as we liked.

I would have preferred if breakfast was available to 11 am instead of 10 am. There wasn't coffee in the room so we had to get our own.

Very well kept hotel, nice room and clean bathroom. The common area of the hotel was great for breakfast, the hotel restaurant was also excellent for dinner and the common area was available during the evening to play cards or games. The breakfast was very good and the key code self check in was great. Was a good central spot to explore from as we had rented a car but might not be the best if you were hoping to be close to downtown. Limited parking available under the hotel but no problem getting street parking while we were there.

Not close to downtown from a walking perspective, fine if you have a vehicle and lots of good parking spots around the hotel if you do. Room was pretty warm which is likely not a complaint very often but the windows only open a tiny bit and the sun heats the room up in the time of year we were there.

Clean, spacious rooms. Good location to go to Reykjavik or travel Golden Circle. Good breakfast. Can warm up your dinner and have coffee / tea for free.

There wasn't enough space for cars in the underground parking. The staff in the second day was quite loud.

The hotel layout is perfect. The breakfast was a great selection including GF options. There was perfect blackout curtains as we went in the summer where it doesn't get dark. The hotel went above and beyond when there was road works in providing earplugs too. No key card was a bonus because we didn't have any accidents in locking ourselves out. Everyone was friendly and all the facilities were brilliant! Even having luggage storage was perfect as it meant we didn't have to cart our luggage around until check in opened.

I think the signage for the parking was hard to see as we came from the opposite direction to where the sign was placed. And sometimes the parking did get a little full but we handled that with the advice given by the hotel.
