Hotel Kea by Keahotels

Very centrally located, this made a great base during our stay in Akureyri. It was also very well priced compared to other places of a similar level troughout Iceland. Breakfast was good and the room was very clean. While the hotel has it's own restaurant, we decided to eat out on that day and were pleased with the number of restaurants close to the hotel.

It wasn't easy to find parking very close to the hotel which might be a nuisance if you are travelling with heavy luggages. However when not carrying luggages the short walk wasn't an issue at all.

Great size room. Across the road from Supermarket and small group of shops. The Pizza place was great.

the shower. although large the water floods the floor.

no lift 2 single beds despite requesting a double bed smelly water (only hotel out of the 8 we did in iceland)

Nice spacious room with good breakfast (especially pastry).

When showering, curtain shower was drawn to water stream so we showered right against the wall to avoid curtain. :-D Also, because of the region, water has sulphuric smell and taste.

The hotel is in a very central location which makes it ideal for exploring Akureyri and surrounds... while the room we were given on checkin had a great view of the Fjord, it would have been a little cramped for three nights... we checked with reception and they gave us a great option for a larger room without the view... front desk staff were very helpful with all questions during our stay and restaurant was also good for dinner (though their are many options in the surrounding streets)

Bed is soft for those who have back issues

expensive compared to other places and i have extensively travelled Iceland. Food in restaurant was nice but over priced. I had originally booked for 2 nights but due to family issues and then the weather only wanted 1 night. They refused to refund the second night and other email’s after that they ignored. All other hotels had been really helpful and these were not. I would not stay again.

So near to the centre and staff very nice We got all we wanted.

Good breakfast. Very helpful staff. Nice ambiance in the hotel: well-maintained and attractive decor. I was without a car for a couple of days so the position in the town centre was very useful.

The room was small but this wouldn't matter except for the fact that the furniture is too large for the room. The solid chair gets jammed between the oversized desk and the bed so you can hardly get out! The bathroom door constantly swings shut which it is maybe designed to do but when the room is so small this becomes very irritating. I won't complain about the heat in the room because this is too rare to worry about but there is a lot of street noise late at night because of the central position.

We loved this hotel. Every staff member, front desk, the restaurant, the bar, house keeping were just incredibly accommodating and helpful. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, happy hour were just beautiful served and incredibly delicious. Our room was lovely, clean and quiet.

No swimming pool or spa services on site.
