Gateway Hotel, Marco Polo

we always stay at marco polo gateway when in HK, because our kids grew up in your hotel, so it's like a comfort place when we travel to HK. Special mention to the duty manager who assisted us when my daughter had severe allergies, he had one staff accompany us to the nearest pharmacy and also where the nearest hospital was. and when we got back to the hotel, since we already checked out and was waiting to proceed to the airport, he had us use one room so my daughter can rest for awhile. The concierge was very attentive and helpful, even with our luggages and getting a taxi

not recommendable for seniors are hard to get in the tub, we requested 802 to be transferred to a no-tub room, and we were given 819, which is much older and smaller room, my parents didn't like the room, it didn't look clean also, several watermarks on countertops, like not sanitized well

A few minutes walk away from Tsim Sha Tsui metro station, my family and I didn't realise we were outside the hotel as the sign is not really noticeable. The staffs were helpful and approachable, the check in process is smooth. As I requested to add a bed, I was told that the bed was not ready. However, We were appreciative that the cleaning lady laid the bed within minutes immediately after we entered the room.

The pillows are quite soft which I couldn't get use to it, I have to use two soft pillows for sleep instead. It would be good if firmer pillows could be provided.

The location is super convenient for shopping as embedded in the landmark spot of harbor city. The breakfast is enough fabulous to satisfy the diversification and the range of selection. The surprise is the bright and large bathroom.

The hotel doesn't have own swimming pool, but shares the one in the other Marco Polo, which requires 10 min walking along the street. At the swimming pool, there isn't a locker room, but a toilet. So, if you don't want to change in a narrow toilet, you might have to wear the bathrobe in the street.

Very near shopping areas

The fact that after Booking.com said that the cost on the Booking.com confirmation notice was inclusive of all fees and taxes, the property Marco Polo Gateway charged me an additional 10% on top of everything Booking.com charged me, this disappointed us since I felt the staff were not up front during check in and even assured us that what was written in the bookin.com app was what they will charge us. This did not happen!!

Could have updated the facilities especially the washroom. There was no bidet in the toilet/ cr. Also, the bath tub shared with the shower area was small for my size and a bit scary since it prompts the idea of slipping due to the bath tub being slippery when soap or bubbles hit the flooring. Hope you can update the bathroom to be more modern now

great location, friendly staff

our room smelt strongly of cigarette smoke. The staff offered us an air purifier which worked to a degree. what they should have done is stopped the person in the next room from smoking in their room as it was a non smoking floor

Location. It was right inside Harbour City shopping mall and within walking distance to a lot of eateries

The taxi drop off point was not right outside the hotel. You need to take your own luggage through the shopping mall (Harbour City) to get into a side entrance of the hotel which was not properly sign posted. The housekeeping rules of not changing the bedsheets unless requested were not explained during check-in.

Great location and the rooms are good for families with small children. The staff too were very helpful especially John (front desk) who checked us in. We were a big group and he made sure our rooms were closer to each other since we are traveling with our kids. The buffet breakfast was also very good.

The location of the hotel & clean rooms . The staff were really friendly.

The shower curtains need to be changed & the water in the bath tub goes down really slow which is inconvenient when using the shower.

Breakfast has many choices , location of the hotel very strategic for shopping and restaurants,

The Gateway Marco Polo Hotel Signboard is hidden and not easily seen, suggested to enhance it so that during walking along the road easy to seen . Easy identification an avoid walking to another Marco Polo Hotel.
