The Last Sunbeam

(+) Location: Right at the edge of the town, next to a quiet park. Easy to go in & out if you have a vehicle. Away from the hustle of the city, yet with everything within walking distance. (+) View: Just breathtaking views from all parts of the acommodation. Full sunset view all year round, and unobstructed caldera views which leave you in awe. (+) Service: Exceptional breakfast, served at the room, with fresh ingredients. The hosts are very helpful & provide us with anything we need. (+) Bed: By far the most comfortable bed I slept on in an accomodation.

(-) Toilet: It is a pity but the toilet facilities in our room are in need of immediate renovation. Slow ineffective flushing, cramped washroom, and decoration which takes you back a few decades. That is the reason I am not giving a full 10. You could make this the perfect hotel if only you upgraded your toilet facilities.

The view is what makes the hotel great. You can easily watch the sunset from there. The room was clean and the staff very friendly. The breakfast is good too.

They don't actually have parking space in their facilities, which is announced in the listing. We had to park in the supermarket, which can be inconvenient if you have mobility issues. Even though the breakfast is great, you need to send every day what you want and it's not crystal clear what you can order or not.

Absolutely perfect in every way. Our room was big, very comfortable beds. The balcony with the view of the sea was like a dream. The hotel is in a great location, just a stone's throw away from the centre of Fira, and in a quiet location. Near to the bus station which was great. Eneida was friendly and always available to offer advice and answer questions. You do not need to go anywhere to watch the sunset. Your balcony/pool area is the perfect spot. The pool was the perfect place to cool off and relax after a long day of sightseeing. If you're thinking of staying in Fira, look no further.

The location and views of the caldera and sunsets were amazing. The LSB were 5 minutes away from Fira Centre, the bus terminal and a big local supermarket. Lots of restaurants to chose from were also in very close proximity. Aneida and her staff were very friendly, helpful and always ready to assist with whatever you needed or advice. The rooms were cleaned every day and you get fresh towels and bedding. The breakfasts were amazing being served at the table on your balcony. Talking about having breakfast with such a beautiful view every morning was something out of this world. Lots too chose from menu and the cooking lady placed everyday some surprize on your tray like lemon cake or homemade sausage pastry. We mentioned once we loved bacon and for two days we got bacon that was not on the menu. The cooking lady's prepartion of breakfast was execellent!!! I highly recommend the Last Sunbeam not only due to its location, but also because of the staff. I will definetly stay here again. We have very fond memories and experience with the Last Sunbeam Apartments.

Nothing to mention

The breakfast was absolutely wonderful! It was so convenient to have the choices, and just let Edenia know the night before what we wanted. Always timely for the time that we requested, and allowed us to change our selections every day. It was so delicious and exactly what we needed! She also scheduled our airport pick up and drop off. Had recommendations. It was nice because it was right next to all the restaurants and shops, but it was at the end of the street so a lot quieter than most places. A peaceful stay.

The walls are very thin, so very easy to hear other rooms next to us, people talking, even the water running from someone else’s usage. Not much you can do about that though at this point.

The breakfast each morning (we stayed 5 nights)was absolutely amazing. Such a variety of delicious food, and every morning Eneida surprised us with an extra little treat to try. She also accommodated my dietary requirements. The view from our balcony was stunning, and we loved the location of the hotel as it was away from the crowds so it was quieter, but still very easy walking distance to all the main shops and restaurants. It was also easy walking distance to the bus terminal, which was handy for sightseeing trips around the island.

We would have preferred 2 separate beds of equal size in the main bedroom. Instead there was one small single bed in the kitchenette area ( no view) and a very large king size bed in the main bedroom with the view. For 2 friends travelling together, that wasn’t the best choice of bedding arrangements.

First, I can’t say enough about Eneida’s hospitality, she was very responsive to all our inquires and arranged our transfer from the airport and to the ferry. The location of the property is perfect! You are close enough to walk to all the shops, restaurants to and happenings in Thira city center but far enough to enjoy the evenings in your room without the noise of the night life. The room was large enough to accommodate 3 people with 3 large suitcases with plenty of room to move about. The views from our balcony day and night were absolutely beautiful. Breakfast brought to our room worked perfectly for us as we could enjoy it at our leisure on the balcony.

We enjoyed everything!

The view is spectacular and location superb near to restaurants bars supermarket and bus station. Host was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast ordered night before brought to your terrace was very good. Room basic but everything worked plenty of hot water and strong shower. Fridge and kettle. Storage space limited not a problem for me as solo traveller. Highly recommend. I had lovely private patio area with sun loungers table and chairs it was huge oh and the view!

Bed uncomfortable. Room very light needs heavy drapes to window. 4 hangers for clothes not sufficient storage space limited. Bathroom in need of renovation.

The view over the caldera from our terrace was stunning. Location close to restaurants and shops was good but being on the edge of Fira meant we were away from the noise. The room was sparse but had everything we needed including a comfortable bed and good facilities. The breakfast was served to us on our terrace and it was great with eggs, fresh fruit and yoghurt and that amazing view. The pool was easily accessed on the lower level and had the same amazing view. Enida, the hotel manager was very helpful and friendly.

The only minor issue was the tv only had access to Greek tv channels so no English speaking news but there were occasional English programs. Otherwise on complaints.

We LOVE THIS PLACE! We went in the last 2wks of May and reserved 2 rooms-both with balconies and facing the caldera views!! The scenery from our rooms was SPECTACULAR!! Eneida was an awesome host--so helpful with everything and more!! The rooms were super clean and towels were super huge, which i loved!!. Delicious breakfasts delivered to our room--coffee was great! We were in the middle of everything i wanted to go to and see. Felt very private, not crowded. My college kids and family all loved being around the pool and enjoying the sunsets and watching the cruise boats come in and out. I wished I could have stayed longer ;)
