Hotel Frisia

I had to stay overnight in Leer at short notice and booked this hotel to be close to the train station. The location was perfect, about 10 s walk from the station. Safe to walk, even at night. The room was huge and everything was comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price and the choice was good, with the usual options like sausages, eggs, beans, salami, cheese, yoghurt and cereal. Upon checking out I got a free bottle of water (plus there was free water in the room), which was useful for my onward journey.

There was no fridge.

Very smart and clean hotel right by the railway station. Reception speaks perfect English, was very attentive and even produced a corkscrew to open my two bottles of special Belgian fruit beers (I gave them a small sample!) I asked for and got a quiet room, but the hotel's central location near the railway line means it won't be silent, though it was OK even on this very hot night. Clean and immaculate room even by German standards. Breakfast is from 06.30 Mons-Sats, 07.30 Suns and Holidays, and is a better than average European buffet, with very attentive staff. Many choices of bread, meats, cheeses, fish, fruit salad, fresh fruit, dried fruits, nuts, 6 sorts of jams (in jam jars), cooked food, cereals, yoghurts, a coffee machine as well as staff bringing you coffee/tea if you prefer, in a large, spacious and very light room. Tubs of ice cream provided free for guests at reception, also bowl of apples on the reception counter, I was given a 50cl carton of mineral water to take with me, and there was a 75cl of mineral water free in my room. Certainly an above average place to stay.

Nothing.

I wasn't expecting such a nice hotel with great facilities as I was only passing by on my way to Holland and decided to stay overnight. Rooms are very spacious also the toilets and showers are big. There is a sauna with a little SPA (really nice!) and quite well equipped gym. Breakfast was superb. Great idea with vending machines outside the rooms where You can buy sodas, beer, wine etc. All in good price (on contrary to other hotels with so-called "mini bar" where supply is limited and very expensive). Hotel is located just outside trains station so it was easy to find.

Particularly convenient location directly at the train station. Pedestrian area starts right next door. A few minutes' walk to the old center, the harbor, the Christmas market, and most attractions. Great staff and very modern and clean hotel. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Large room. Nice lobby to sit, read newspapers, or move further to the adjacent bar area.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff were particularly attentive. Breakfast itself had a wide range of options and could not have been better.

A very good hotel. Clean and pleasant room with coffee and tea and a bottle of water. There is a sauna and a bicycle shed. There are even free ice creams available. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast delicious. And all this very affordable.

Nice, clean and spacious enough room. Also a fitness facility with some possibilities to do training. Parking space also available. Nice to get a bottle of water also with the check out.

A restaurant as part of the hotel would be great. But there were plenty of restaurants in the vicinity.

Nice hotel, very clean, with good noise isolation, well maintained, and friendly staff. They delivered 100% of what was expected.

The breakfast was full of many fresh and good tasting options. The staff was accommodating and friendly.

The second floor hallway had a very overwhelming men’s cologne type of smell.

Breakfast was very good, the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very firnedly. Parking was easy. The location is near to the city center with a lot of possibilities for food and the train station. It was a very nice stay.

In the night it was kind of noisy from the traffic/street
