Classik Hotel Antonius

Booked a double room but were given what seemed a bit like a self catering apartment with separate sitting room and bedroom, including a small kitchenette. Plenty of space and the bed was very comfortable. We had breakfast each morning which had plenty of choice and the dining room was spacious and although quite dark (we didn't see the sun at all during our visit) it had a nice ambience. The location is great, little more than 10 mins walk from the main station and cathedral. There was a quick and easy self booking in system available which we used.

A kettle in the room is always a bonus for us.

Great location to the train station, approx 8 minute walk. Seemed like a safe area too. I never felt uncomfortable even walking back after dark. Rewe convenience store about 3 minute walk away for water, snacks and other food/toiletries. I did not have too much interaction with the staff but any I did was all positive. My room was upgraded to a Prestige room. Very spacious. Smart TV enabled me to sign into my Netflix, Amazon, Disney+ account. No having to try to decifer German language TV shows.

I would have liked a hotel bar. There is a very stylish restaurant attached to the hotel but it was a bit too fancy (for me) just for a drink. Breakfast is also served in this restaurant but I did not have breakfast here as it seemed a bit expensive at €18.

The hotel is located on a quiet street close to both the river and the Koln central train station. There is also a subway stop just 2 blocks north of the hotel, and an Rewe grocery store can be found 2 blocks to the west. The room we had was very spacious and quiet.

Our room reservation stated quite clearly that breakfast was available for 9 Euro per person per day. However, when we arrived at the hotel we were told that the cost for breakfast would be 18 Euro per person per day (NOT the 9 Euro per person amount given to us when we booked the room). I expressed my displeasure at the 100% difference in that price but the front desk person said there was nothing they could do about it and that if we wanted to eat breakfast we would have to pay 18 Euro per person per day. So instead of paying that rather outrageous price we went to the nearby Rewe grocery store and spent 36 Euro for breakfast groceries that lasted us for the duration of our 7 night stay.

The staff was nice.The breakfast and the breakfast service was really good.We loved it.Wide range of foods and drinks.The breakfast staff was really nice and kind.We could ask fresh fried eggs. We could check in late night and check out early morning, it was great because of our flights time schedule.

The room was clean. butI broke my EDT in the bathroom,and I said it to the receptionist to clean it up,broken glasses were around there.It was not done during daily room cleaning , when we back to the hotel room during late evening broken glasses were around still. One of the electrical plug was not covered under the TV on the wall.

The place was slightly outside but within walking distance to the train station and other tourist attractions. There was construction just outside the hotel. We stayed on a Saturday evening so wasn't bothered by them on Sunday morning. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, facilities were good, Comfortable bed, good shower. Air conditioning was working well. We enjoyed the stay in general.

The room was spacious but had a one-bed flat looking layout. The living room had just a small table and two chairs, no sofa or anything equivalent to sit on. Would appreciate more use of the space in the living room. There wasn't much of a view from the windows, as was blocked by another building. The Nespresso machine didn't work properly.

The staff were very kind and helpful. In spite of the construction outside, our room was still fairly quiet. Property was clean and nicely appointed inside. They were able to reserve nearby offsite parking for us, which was very helpful.

There is major construction on the road where the hotel is located, so there was some construction noise, and it made getting from the hotel to parking a bit challenging. One block away, the neighborhood was lovely.

Our room was well-proportioned with a a large, comfortable bed and plenty of cupboard space. It looked out over a courtyard which is used for outside seating by diners at the Restaurant Augustin next door, so there was some noise in the early evening but nothing which bothered us. The buffet breakfast at the Restaurant Augustin was excellent, with fruit, cereals and a good selection of breads. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Koln Hbf and the inexpensive neighbourhood eateries on Eigelstein.

Despite leaving the windows open, our room was uncomfortably warm during the night.

We really liked the decoration style of the hotel: it is modern but comfy. The rooms were also super clean and the beds were really really nice. It was also great to have a small fridge, coffee machine and water cocker in the room. The windows are well isolated so you don't hear noise from the outside. We also liked that the hotel was close to the train station and to the city center. The staff was always friendly.

Maybe it is a cultural reason, but we were surprised that they only clean the rooms if you stay more than two nights. Probably if we would have known this, we wouldn't have picked this hotel. Also, in one of the bathrooms an unpleasant odor was coming from the shower drain

Thehotel is a five minute walk from the main station at Cologne. Even with a wheely suitcase, its not a disaster. Train was delayed so arriving at the hotel was also delayed. Reception staff were friend and warm and given it was nearly 11 oçlock at night tried their best to make the process as short and simple as possible so I could get to my room. I was offered an upgrade fee of charge which was large and spacious. Not stayed there for breakfast yet.

Room was very large and spacious, but the bathroom was quite small and there was no where to put a toilet bag. The shower was under the slope of the roof and even not being particularly tall, I couldn;t stand up straight. Water spilled all over the floor and the bath mat was soaked. Because room cleaning only starts on Day 2 - the mat was still wet despite being hung up the to dry during the day.

The hotel is about 10 min walk from the cathedral and station. Shorter walk to supermarket and shops and bars. Room clean and modern, staff really helpful with suggestions etc

The only negative which isn’t hotels fault but to be aware. Due to a train strike there were no trains so the hotel ordered us a taxi. The taxi to Düsseldorf airport cost €150. We saw average cost is €90 so that was a big negative end to our trip, so maybe the hotel could look into taxi costs.
