Hotel Maximilian’s

In 1763 Mozart's family stayed here. The Sculpture of Drei Mohren was so nice. Bar and the restaurant were so fascinating.

The original hotel name shall be used. It does not harm any discrimination.

Hotel Maximilian is a real 5 star hotel, perfectly located in the heart of Augsburg - you can comfortably walk to all major sites in the city. Our room was big, clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly, good breakfast. You can charge your car in the public parking garage, where the hotel has reserved Electric Car charging stations. AND very important for me: a bed that was longer than 2meters!!!! ALL in all: properly 5 stars

Only 2 small details: 1. Housekeeping came in 2x while we were in the room. Yes, we should have used the do-not-disturb, but the time between knocking and coming in was very short. 2. As always in Germany, the ‘covers’ on the bed (decke) was too short. I really don’t understand who in Germany decided that people in germany are never taller than 1.90??

I absolutely liked everything. The bed could have been a little softer, but that is really down to personal preference. Staff was very accommodating, friendly and polite. Especially Luther could not do enough to make my stay pleasant. He is a credit to the Hotel. The room was a generous size, my request for parquet flooring could be accommodated (allergies), the bathroom offered all one could wish for and need, even a bathroom scale was thought of. Both room and bathroom were spotless. It is the little things, from parking my car, to delivery of my suitcases, to the turndown service and the unobtrusive attention of the staff that make this a wonderful hotel. This was not my first visit and it was as good as I remembered, if not better. This is how you run a hotel. I can only recommend and will stay again, if/when I am back in Augsburg.

The breakfast is excellent, staff in the restaurant is very nice, friendly and helpful. Nice bathroom with a bathtub and spacious shower. Great location. Both hot saunas were great. (Steam bath was not on unfortunately.)

The door between the shower and the bathroom is very difficult to open. Room service personnel knocked at the room door and opened it without waiting for an answer - this happened twice during our one day stay for no reason (we hadn’t ordered anything or weren’t expect anyone to come). The first time it happened we were disturbed while sleeping. It’s a minor thing but wouldn’t expect this from a five star hotel personnel.

We were upgraded to a superior room which was a great size with a huge, comfy bed and good quality sheets. We had to ask for a kettle twice which was a shame but it came eventually! The Molton Brown toiletries smelled gorgeous and the shower was excellent. We paid extra for breakfast and it was delicious, lots of choice and lots of staff to clear the tables. We asked for a late check out and this was given until 2pm free of charge which was a very pleasant surprise! I didn't visit the spa as it was only open from 4pm to 10pm. Overall an excellent hotel in a central location with super staff giving great service!

Had to ask twice for a kettle for our room, but that was only a very small issue.

This lovely place is right in the midst of the old town of Augsburg. The hotel accomodated a check-in even earlier than requested - that was such a relief and welcome surprise after a long flight. The room was very homely, we booked the studio and the kitchenette was well-stocked - we managed to cook delicious food sourced from the butchery and green grocery nearby. The Maximilian hotel restaurant and bar are superb too, great local fare with fusion touch and a veritable selection of drinks. Even the mineral water is delicious. Another must-try is the wellness area with sauna and steam room , truly relaxing. The staff are exceptional. Thanking them for the memorable stay. The city of Ausburg is full of rich history amd warm people. We are so glad to make it to Ausburg to recharge ourselves, in the midst of all the difficulties in travelling due to Covid. We hope to come back!

Nothing was lacking. Great stay.

Hotel was in a great location - and our room was made up beyond our expectations. I booked a suite for myself, husband and two teenage daughters - and the girls' (temporary) beds were already made when we checked in. Staff was super-helpful (and it was nice to see women running things, valet, bellhops, etc. as well as men!). Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was delicious and the room was just our aesthetic ("soft contemporary").

We couldn't eat all the free fruit that was left for us!

A classic hotel, with a great location, lovely staff and fantastic restaurants.

we had some hot days - no longer unusual in Germany - and the AC was not strong enough - and virtually no windows opened. this is no acceptable.

Front desk was very responsive to inquiries and concerns. We enjoyed dinners on 3 occasions in the bar-restaurant!.

On one early morning there was repetitive pounding over-head which lasted for very long time. Reported to the front desk who were sympathetic and followed up

Central upmarket hotel, within short walking distance of all sights. Good size room, comfortable beds, excellent bathroom- best shower ever. We ate out for breakfast and evening meals. Plenty of choice of all around for both. Parking easy and very close, if expensive… 23 euros per day… but we knew in advance.
