Grand Hotel De La Poste - Lyon Sud - Vienne

Cute ,little, well organized hotel with a vintage makeover style, nicely located between the train station and the old city center.(witch are both just a 5 minute walk away).The stuff is friendly and used to international guest. The breakfast is really great, is lavish and offers various possibilities for everyone and it is worth every cent.The town , located at the riverbanks of the Rhône river, is surprisingly interesting..go to see the impressive roman temple and the Amphie theater, take a chilled night walk at the river promenade, do a selfie around the cathedral or sit and drink an Aparétif in a bar. Perfect spot for a one day break on a road trip from north to south of France. We stayed two nights and did a great one day trip to Lyon by the train ,which took us approx. 20min and it was honestely cheap for a group ticket on summer weekends.Parking on the town square in front of the hotel is free on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays in the red marked areas. ( if you are lucky enough to get a free place) We do not expected much fun, and we have been more than positively surprised. All over a good choice.

The hotel was in a central location near to lots of bars and restaurants. The decor was slightly weird but fun. The bathroom well appointed. There was a lift. The receptionist as very friendly and there was a Carrefour Express nearby.

The breakfast was limited, by 8.40 there was no bread or croissants although they did send out for more.

The hotel is very cozy and quaint. The staff was friendly and super helpful. This hotel focuses on stays with children, the owners are also 1 big happy family. The breakfast is excellent and plentiful, we took our breakfast outside terrace. Vienne is a beautiful town, history, roman and French architecture and right next to the river = beautiful.

Vienne is a busy town, parking in the vicinity of the hotel can be challenging.

We arrived by train and the hotel was very close and easy to find. Our room was very comfortable with a nice view from our window. The hotel itself is very charming, with a lot of memorabilia and a lovely sitting room overlooking the street.

The mattress had a plastic protector, which was noisy on movement and made you feel hot.

we had a family suite, a double room with twin room adjoining and one bathroom. the beds were very comfortable, the rooms were clean and spacious and the air conditioning worked well. the bathroom was ok but the shower leaked, however we made sure the door was shut properly! would definitely stay again

helpful staff central location near good restaurants and tree lined avenues wonderful city with lots to see parked our motorbikes in a private courtyard ,had to pay 15 euros which was ok good breakfast

Beautifully and stylishly redorcorated since our last stay in July 2017. Warm and welcoming family run hotel. Amazingly diverse breakfast which was free for kids. Lovely art in the salon and full of toys for the young ones. Reasonably priced in the centre of town. Would recommend. 😊

Fantastic location with secure bike storage. The room wad lovely with character and breakfast was made with care and home made food. Loved the pancakes.

Nice location. Staff gave us good tips on what to see. Funky decor … we liked it. Safe place to keep our touring bikes. Quiet even though we were there 2 nights over weekend.
