The Originals Résidence, Grenoble Université

The room was clean and provided with a kitchen and equipment. The bathroom was big and well decorated. The view from the room was wonderful as one could see the entire Belledonne mountain region from the window. The breakfast was nice and the staff was well behaved. The hotel has a laundry, where one can clean and dry clothes.

The major problem we faced at the residency was the lack of an air conditioner. We arrived at the hotel in July, and it was sweltering. No air-conditioning in the room made it very difficult to stay during the day. A tower fan was provided by the hotel staff, but it failed to make any difference. We could not open the window much longer as many bugs were entering from the outside. Although the room was clean when we moved in, no cleaning service was provided during our stay. Apparently, the cleaning crew comes only once a week.

For what, to us, was a stopover hotel I was positively surprised by the property. Friendly reception. Big room. Towards the back of the building it was super quiet. No aircon but fans were provided which we didn't really need as we were able to have the window wide open to let in the cool night air during a super hot day. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. Gluten free bread was ready having had pre-advised staff up on check in (the day before!). No aircon but fans were provided. We booked again for a night on our return having had such a good stay.

There really are only two small things which they could improve on. Their toilet roll holder is a stand with the toilet brush right under the toilet paper. I don't find it very hygienic having the paper I use touch the handle of the brush everyone else touches. And there is nowhere to place your own shampoo / shower gel in the shower (although they do provide shower gel in a dispenser attached to the wall).

Very comfortable, good standard, tasty breakfasts with enough options - I enjoyed the stay and would stay again. There are also additional facilities such as ironing board, private car parking or even parking in a private garage (for extra price though), etc. The location a bit off the city centre, however close to university campus.

The location is a bit off the city centre - you need to walk for 30-40 minutes or take a tram. Not a big deal.

Great room, friendly staff, and an amazing view. Also nice to have a kitchenette and the parking was secure.

No room cleaning service provided - would have a major issue had we stayed longer. Traffic noise on the road can be a problem. No air conditioning in the room but then again this is meant to be eco-friendly.

The room was so clean and bright! And you can see the mountains from both windows which makes for an amazing view. The size of the room was very very generous, as well as the bathroom, and the bed was really comfortable. Overall, this was a really delightful place to stay, with the staff being exceptionally helpful, speaking superb English, and creating a very welcome atmosphere. It also has secured free parking, which was a bonus for us!

Its location is in the heart of Grenoble, so it fairly busy.

there was no Wi-Fi connection in my room (the last in the hall) need about half an hour to get to the city centre but tramway station is right next to the hotel

Small point, but a couple of English speaking channels on the tv would be nice. I imagine in the height of summer the lack of aircon might be an issue, but at least the windows open...

Perfectly located near university but also nearby 2 major tram lines deserving well the Grenoble city, including main train station. The room is gorgeously large with kitchen, small lounge and well separated bathroom.

accessing hotel with car is challenging. There is no parking spaces nearby, neither slot for luggage offload. In some cases, you will need to cross tram line in forbidden way to quietly park next to the hotel entrance door.

The staff were friendly, the Room was large and clean. The breakfast was Nice and kept me full almost the whole day. There was a small stove and fridge n the room.

By mistake i made reservation for july instead of june. The reception gave me the last room left. Thanks for that

No ac in the room. I requested a multiple socket but was not provided one.
