Hôtel Mac Bed

Booked last minute and booked initially on price as the usual go to Campaniles in this area were either booked up or really overpriced on the date I needed. The hotel was a couple of minutes away after the toll booth exit and easy to get to. First impressions of the area weren't great, usual industrial estate location most of these motels are located in but don't let that put you off if you're after a place just to sleep. Parking area felt safe, the reception guy was really friendly and helpful 👍 The room even though it was small was comfortable, warm, very clean and not run down which many of the motorway motels are, bathroom surprisingly spacious. Once inside the room it was very quiet and I didn't hear doors slamming etc, slept really well as did my dogs!!

A kettle, yes & coffee would be nice.

The staff were truly exceptional, as we had issues in our travel, and arrived very late. They stayed up to ensure we arrived safely, and sent e-mails to family to inform them. The room was comfortable, and the continental breakfast was enjoyable. We had a good night's sleep and continued our journey as planned (the hotel is conveniently close to the motorway).

It can be a bit tricky following the satnav to get to the hotel, but that is not an issue for the hotel. The roundabouts are a bit confusing!

The room was more for a disabled person and the double bed whilst big enough for two was against the wall on one side meaning your partner has to crawl over you for the bathroom for normal people, as opposed to a disabled persons needs bit good facilities .

Cant See why some people give this place a Bad review - it's brilliant! Perfect quiet Location. Very secure parking for our Motorbikes. Terrace area Out Back where you can enjoy your own food and Drink. (They are currently building a lovely Garden space) Friendly staff. It is NOT the grubby lorry Park some people say it is.

The room was quite hot, despite the Fan. But it was a 40 degree day!! A Kettle in the room would have been great, or one in the breakfast area 24/7. Vending Machine was not working.

Very helpful staff and enjoyable French breakfast in the cool of the morning. Room perfectly serviceable and comfortable. Worked well as a convenient overnight break on a longer journey, as it is easy to find and close to the main motorway.

Some minor issues obtaining information for a late arrival, caused mainly by language difficulties, but resolved well.

I was welcomed really nicely at the door. Even tho I don't speak French, the communication worked with no problem. It was nice calm and clean in a good location. Thanks a lot to the staff and the owners.

I left my room to put some things in the car, and when I came back from the car and wanted to check the room and the cleaning lady was already inside doing her work. It wasn't to bad, but I didn't give my key back yet, so she shouldn't be inside "my room". Other than that I was happy with my stay

It was close to the main roads around Poitiers and easy to find: ideal for an overnight transit stop. Room provided everything we needed for a one night stay. Host was helpful. Parking was in the private parking area of the hotel. Price was reasonable.

The city centre would be a bit far to walk if you wanted to visit that. Breakfast was not included.

Excellent location close to both the A10 and the N10 on route from Bordeaux to Rouen, Paris or Calais and, therefore, ideal for a good rest on the way, but also for a quick escapade to visit Poitiers or as a motel for a love affair. Great quality at a very affordable price. Exceptional customer service, very attentive and helpful staff, particularly the man who waited for us when we arrived later than expected at night, one and a half hours after check-in closing time. Room was as described, clean, spacious enough and with a big and comfortable bed and a private bathroom. Continental breakfast, paid apart on arrival, was generous, well-thought and with an excellent homemade coffee. Wifi service is excellent all around the hotel, including the terraces at the front and the back of the hotel where you can sit to relax at night, and comes with a subscription to read many newspapers and magazines and the TV service in the bedroom includes free access to all sports pay for channels. Booking states that pets are not allowed, but, although we had planned to let our 10-year-old border collie to sleep in our car, we were allowed to take it to the bedroom and she slept with us as usual. This was my first experience at the Mac Bed hotel, but, travelling regularly from England to Spain by car, twice or three times a year, I will keep its details handy and I will definitely return.

There was nothing I particularly disliked, but there were two or three things which could have been better. There was only one big towel in the double bedroom, but we only realised this in the morning when we were going to have a shower; there was only a vending machine with some snacks, water and fizzy drinks, but not with a cold beer for example, despite having two amazing terraces at the front and the back of the hotel for people to sit and relax, and there wasn’t any bar/pub nearby, and, together with the butter and the jam, a bit of honey could have been added to their otherwise excellent continental breakfast.

The hotel was in a good location and easy to find. The owners/manager were really friendly and helpful, they didn't speak much English and we don't speak much French but between us we got on ok. He told us of a really good place to eat where they make their own beer, we had great burgers. The room was very clean and had a comfy bed.

The property is right off the motorway. It was surprisingly quiet, as it is located in an industrial area. the bed was comfortable, the room was clean. For the price I could not find anything to complain about, even if it were doubled. Breakfast was worth the cost. even though the staff spoke no English and I speak no French, they were patient enough with me to make sure everything was good.
