The Originals Boutique, Hotel de l'Univers, Montlucon (Inter-Hotel)

Excellent value for well located hotel with a good sized bedroom and bathroom. Staff very friendly; the bed was comfortable and very clean. We didn't have breakfast but the brasserie at the gare next door does amazing coffee

Bit of a musty smell - nothing horrendous though Secure parking - because there is a key then it's a bit of a pain on leaving as the exit of car park is a bit of a way round one way system back to the hotel - you have to go back to the hotel to drop off the key

We were really nicely surprised by the quality of the hotel. We were in Montluçon for a night's stay for a ceremony at the Ecole de Gendarmerie. We searched for a convenient hotel on the web and found this one; we were a bit surprised of the paintings, features of some rooms. When we went into the room, we were nicely surprised because the features had nothing weird, there was a lot of space and the bathroom was great. The staff at the reception and for the breakfast were charming and very helpful. All in all, we would recommend the hotel and also the city who has a very interesting history.

the guy that did smoke in his bathroom at 5AM, making the fire alarm ring and forcing us to get out in pjs with our prices possessions and the fear for our life

Decor was fun! Room was very quiet - due to the double set of room entry doors and the thick walls. Bed was very comfortable. Small room, but lacked nothing. Hot water and plenty of soap! Breakfast was one of the best selections I've had in this region of France.

This hotel was a lucky find. Far exceeded expectations. Staff could not have been more helpful, tasteful decor, excellent location. Garage parking upon request. Would definitely recommend staying there if visiting Montlucon.

Very friendly welcome from the reception. Great secure parking garage (booked in advance) only about 5-minute walk to the cite medieval. Quiet room, shutters to keep out light and noise. Nespresso machine in the room

Would have liked bottled water in the room.

Pleasant helpful reception. Had the parking payments explained. Given map of the town. Good room but didn't like the graffiti decor.

Convenient location for train station and arrival by car from motorway, secure parking, small but clean quiet and comfortable room, aircon, friendly staff, good breakfast: what else do you want?

Very comfortable, nice decor good location with street parking close by as well as a number of spaces in hotel itself. Short walk to town centre
