Château La Grande Clotte0

We really liked everything with our visit at La Grande Clotte. We stayed there for three nights during my 30th birthday trip in Bordeaux. Julie and Mathieu welcomed us in the best way and gave us a winetasting with there own produced wine, which are amazing! Julie also gave us a lot of tips on restaurants and activities to do in the area. Additionally, the breakfast is lovely and the pool is amazing with a beautiful view over the vineyard. We want to go back!! 😊

Everything was fabulous. I stayed with my wife Caroline for 2 weeks in the area including The Dordogne, Saint-Emillion and Bordeaux. We stayed in a mixture of airbnbs, hotels (including a fabulous place with a Michelin star restaurant), guest houses and this chateau. This place was our favourite. The other reviews seem to capture it all. It was such a nice base to return to for 3 days as we explored the beautiful area. Our time outside the chateau visiting other places were made all the more enjoyable by the great start we had to the day waking up here to a lovely French breakfast and the expectation of returning here to relax at the end of each day. We were made very welcome and are so impressed with how the owners are with their guests and also how well they run their business producing wine. We tried some of the wine too and it was excellent. Julie and Mathieu are a lovely welcoming couple. They are truly inspirational people to engage with and learn about their wine making at La Grand Clotte. Always prepared to help with early breakfasts and the odd phone call when needed. The building has been sympathetically renovated. Decor is stylish and tasteful whilst providing a welcoming atmosphere with all the facilities needed for our stay.

Nothing - feel lucky to have found it!

Super peaceful and relaxing stay. Perfect location in the middle of vineyards. Nice breakfast and as there are currently only 2 rooms, quite peaceful and relaxing. A beautiful swimming pool with a view on vineyards. Very helpful, motivated and kind hosts -a young family of passionate winemakers, who make their own excellent wine bio and are passionate about it.

It is really a great place to stay! The room is very spacious. The bed is very, very good! And the douche is superb. It was very clean. Location is very well! You're a 15 minutes drive of St. Emillion. Also Bordeaux is near (take the park and ride!). Julie is a wonderfull host! She gave a fantastic winetasting. And made a lovely breakfast. A plus is the swimming pool! And off course the vineyard! No doubt I would stay here again!

Wifi could be a little bit better. But the company is installing fiber optic.

We loved our stay at Chateau La Grand Clotte A beautiful small chateau in rural France just a 2 minute drive from the town of Lussac and 8km from St Emilion- Julie our host spoke English and was very helpful arranging a booking for our evening meal- the breakfast was very good - homemade yoghurt and jams were delicious As soon as we arrived we were treated to a wine tasting from Julie and Mathew family run vineyard

Nothing just wished we could have stayed to enjoy the area for a few more days

The room and in suite bathroom was recently remodeled and seemed palatial in size compared to other rooms in area. Everything was spotless, the bed was comfortable, sheets crisp, etc. Breakfast was delicious with croissants, fresh bread, homemade jam, honey, fresh fruit salad, orange juice and french press coffee. The hosts were warm and attentive and gave a great dinner recommendation. They made reservations for us as well. The property is within a vineyard. The owners are also wine makers. Would definitely recommend.

A wonderful experience - run by a young French wine-making couple who, having worked in other countries, have bought and renovated an old chateau (and created 2 guest rooms in the barn) outside Lussac and are making wine! First question on arrival: "what time would you like to do the wine tasting". Made to feel part of the family. Superb breakfast with home-made jams and yoghurt. Some options for evening food (bring some bread from the village boulangerie to enjoy with the pate / foie gras).

We loved everything about our stay. The hosts were very helpful and booked a couple of fabulous restaurants for us. The bed was super comfy and breakfast was very enjoyable with homemade yoghurt and fresh croissants. There is a fabulous pool with stunning views over the vineyards. It’s in a beautiful and peaceful location well situated for a wine tasting holiday or just to relax. We would highly recommend.

Warmly welcomed by hospital hosts. Accommodation was really spacious and beautiful. The pool was amazing and we had a great day chilling there watching the harvesting of the grapes. We stayed for 2 nights and we wished we had stayed longer. The owners are passionate about wine making and their wine is lovey and very reasonably priced! We will be back to stay!
