Best Western Hôtel Hermitage

In a beautiful part of France with lots of things to do and see! Bars and restaurants plentiful. Hotel itself has a very good restaurant but did not try this. Rooms were very spacious and had everything you needed. I picked here as it is not too far from the channel tunnel. I would definitely return to this place.

We were slightly confused about the parking as we were there Sunday to Monday and I think they may have had a market on the Monday. We found street parking around no problem.

We stay at the Hermitage two or three times a year while transiting northern France, and are very satisfied with what is on offer. The rooms are large for three star hotel, with high ceilings. Public rooms are very spacious. Our beds were very comfortable, a major plus, and there was a new, high grade shower in place of the former old fashioned baths with shower. Reception staff are always friendly and helpful. There is secure parking in a large walled courtyard (for a charge). Pets are welcome.

Nowhere really comfortable to sit in the bedrooms. A sofa or two easy chairs would be welcome, as would spoons (even plastic) rather than thin wooden sticks to stir tea or coffee. Also, the price has crept up. €130 for two, with parking but without breakfast) is pushing it a bit in our view.

The room was large and the bed was huge and ver comfortable. Plenty of pillows too, which isn't always the case in French hotels. The gentleman on reception when we arrived was wonderful. The restaurant was closed and we were struggling to find a dog friendly restaurant nearby that was open. He was very helpful and not only recommended but booked us into a fabulous local restaurant.

Room lighting was either very dim with just side lights but the overhead lights were dazzling. Bathroom was very modern but no shower door meant the floor got wet

Plenty of space in a converted old hospital with free public parking in the front. Desk staff were very helpful and approachable. Attractive bar. Quiet and comfortable beds, Located centrally without the road noise from cobbles. Near the ramparts which make for a great morning run.

Bar was nice but stick to wine and beer and stay away from cocktails. Bar staff a la 'Parisian brusqueness'. Hot water supply and pressure to the showers were limited, although this may have to do with the current energy conservation drive.

Staff were so friendly and dog friendly too. The room was huge, the bathroom was modern, nice clean design. The restaurant was amazing and we could take our dog to the restaurant too. They catered very well for gluten-free. The breakfast room and buffet was very good with everything you could need including gluten-free options on display. We were only passing through aa we were on our way to Spain but this was a great stop over place just 1hour 50 minutes from Calais. Will definitely stay again.

Lovely big bedroom and bathroom. Good breakfast. Plenty of free parking nearby, but private parking (paid) available if necessary or preferred. Short walking distance to numerous restaurants. Staff pleasant and helpful and receptionists spoke excellent English, which is always appreciated,

Cappuccinos in breakfast coffee machines sweet and not drinkable, by us anyway.

This impressive old hospital building turned into hotel is a very comfortable place during your stays in Montreuil-sur-Mer. All restaurants and some of the epic bars in town - within the medieval enforced city walls - are close by. A good stroll from the hotel. The rooms are quiet, bathrooms excellent, beds great and breakfast more than OK. Parking is easy and secure. The bar is great. Location location location! Yes this place has it all. Great walks over the city walls all around the old town. The region ; Les Sept Vallées, is a gem in France, only a (few) hour(s) from Paris, London, Brussels, Gent, Brugge, Amiens. So yes, as you might have guessed from reading this review, we like it and we will most definitely be back.

Nothing! There was nothing that we didn't like. Maybe the price?

Big comfortable room. It had a small fridge that was very useful. The hotel was close to the centre of this enchanting little town.

The shower enclosure was inadequate so that it was impossible not to flood the bathroom floor. The layout of the breakfast room made it difficult to find what I was looking for.

We regularly stay at the Hermitage en route to and from our holiday home in South West France. The building is an impressive former hospital or military convalescent home. The public rooms are large, impressive, high ceilinged. The bedrooms too are spacious and high ceilinged, far more so than in purpose built modern hotels. We have always found the staff friendly, efficient and welcoming. Secure parking (at €15 a night) is an added bonus. Montreuil itself is an interesting town and well worth visiting.
