We arrived and were greeted immediately by our host. We crossed a drawbridge into a courtyard and we ascended an ancient spiral staircase to walk along some atmospheric corridors to a wonderful room with views both to the outer world and to the courtyard. We took a marvellous dinner on a summer evening in ancient courtyard looking up at the marvellous old building. In the morning the lady of the house served us a lovely breakfast on a terrace where perhaps people have breakfasted for a millennium. After breakfast we walked in the grounds and to a nearby lake. This is a proper chateau oozing with charm. It is not one of the restored and atmospherically bankrupt places. It is crumbling around the edges but that just endorses the authenticity and charm. Everything worked, everything was clean and everyone was amazingly kind and professional. Thank you.

There were no ghosts.

Fabulous slightly shabby chateau with drawbridge and turrets, beautiful huge bedroom room of great charm, canopied bed, period sofa, armchairs and furnishings and oval bathroom in turret, very stylish. Intimate restaurant where we enjoyed a very good dinner, excellent champagne!

Nothing, except if one is being picky, there was a lovely freestanding bath but the overhead shower was tricky as the curtain rail is not large enough. However, this place is more about atmosphere than mod cons and it achieves that in abundance.

The place is perfectly handled by Paul and his team. If you are lucky; Homere, the Basset Hound, will go and welcome you while you are parking your car. I have been in the Château in winter time and now in spring. It is a beautifull place to sleep and rest well, and to have a nice breakfast in the morning sitting at their terrace. It is a quiet place where you can find the peace you need when you have a stressful way of living. You really smell the good French culture and their quality of life. The restaurant follows high standards and you can have a nice dinner, they change the menu monthly so if you visit them from time to time, you will always enjoy something new. They have a good selection of local wines if you fancy too. A nice experience which I will repeat for sure.

Lovely people, really helpful and kind when we lost our car keys! Drinks in the courtyard were lovely. Breakfast on the terrace also wonderful. Super room and bathroom.

Dinner was quite expensive and not as good as we had expected. It was pleasant but not €100 worth for one starter, two mains and a bottle of wine. The chateau is eclectic and lovely. The garden needs some love - it could be beautiful but needs some landscaping and planting.

The chateau is only a few minutes from the autoroute but it’s a perfect haven of peace and tranquility. The room was extremely well equipped and brimming with character and charm. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. All in all, a brilliant stay

We arrived on Sunday and had a lovely meal in the courtyard restaurant on our first evening. It was closed all day on Monday and Tuesday which meant going out to eat - not a bad thing because there are some brilliant restaurants in Macon - however, the restaurant being closed sucked a bit of the atmosphere out of the experience. There were a few other guests around but it lacked the buzz we’d felt on Sunday evening.

The castle is nicely upgraded with bathrooms that fit current standards. Staff is very friendly and helpful, the owner speaks English. Rooms give you the feel of living in an ancient castle but the beds were very comfortable.

We cannot think of anything that we did not like in this property or during our stay (2 nights) there.

A jewel of a place, hidden away but just minutes from the autoroutes. Excellent restaurant serving in the 11th/15th C courtyard, delightful breakfast on the terrace overlooking the ornamental pond. Extremely warm welcome from the lovely owners and Homère, the dignified castle dog.

The chateau structure itself is very run down and quirky, but our room was very good. Food was excellent with breakfast on the terrace, and dinner within the courtyard walls. The owner was very accommodating. Homer, his basset hound and resident helper was a delight.

There was only a bath, no shower. (We are elderly and cannot use a bath).

We loved everything about the chateau: the atmosphere of teh castle, our room, the breakfast that our host was bringing to the room every morning of our 3-days stay, the park around the chateau. One evening we had a dinner in teh chateau restaurnt: great food and loverly ambiance.

Nothing to dislike Just a comment: there is not much going on in the close proximity of the chateau; you need to have a car to go to the places in the area.
