Mercure Beaune Centre

Lovely surprise: clean, stylish and modern! Range of electric car chargers - we didn't use, but v useful for those en route to or from South France; great location as a v short walk into the medieval town of Beaune; although we didn't use, the hotel has an onsite swimming pool and offers towels to use - it was in the midst of a heatwave! Very stylish hotel (especially for a Mercure); had free water to fill your own bottles and a lovely lounge area with seating and books plus a stylish bar! Rooms great too

Bit of a 'bun fight' for breakfast as hard to find staff to take orders, but not sure how to correct as staff worked v hard to keep buffet and crockery/cutlery replenished. Good range of food to suit most tastes.

Although the location is not the most picturesque, the facilities and standards of the hotel were all very good. There is plenty of free parking and the check-in process was efficient. It is approximately 15-20 mins walk 'on the flat' to the centre with interesting independent shops and plenty of restaurants. The more luxe hotels in the centre of Beaune have prices to match so the Mercure offered excellent value for an overnight stay.

Not keen on all that ultraviolet exterior colour (from what I remember) but inside it was fine. The location was good as far as accessibility and parking goes but it's a rather unlovely part of town. Having said that, it didn't feel unsafe, and it's just a short walk away are some very charming streets and views.

Location-an easy 10 min walk to the old city centre. Free parking. Pleasant helpful staff who upgraded us to a junior suite - thank you! Very clean room & bathroom (walk-in shower AND bathtub). Comfortable bed. Quiet. Nespresso machine and kettle. Trolleys(carts) for luggage.

Shower partition inadequate so floor was flooded. Had to mop & wring out tub mat several times (eek!) Toilet(WC) was far from the bathroom so had to walk through 2 rooms to wash hands. All our accommodations in France had the toilet in a separate room so maybe that’s a cultural thing. No vent in toilet. Room was warm- AC didn’t work until we called reception twice. Fridge smelt funky so we didn’t dare use it.

The hotel is very well located, 10 minutes from the old centre of Beaune (where it would have been possible to build a hotel of this size) and close to shops and a couple of restaurants. It is very easy to park your car, and it takes only 5 minutes to access the motorway. The hotel itself is quite cosy, with a nice lobby and bar area, as well as a good swimming pool. Staff at reception and at the bar were very professional. The bedroom was not huge, but more than enough for a short stay!

This being Burgundy, we were expecting a more "Burgundian" breakfast, with plenty of different cheeses and bread types, as well as sweets, etc. Not that the bread and the cheese that they did have was not good: it is just that other places probably set the bar very high and you tend to expect a greater variety.

Great place to stay for a few nights when visiting Beaune. A short walk into the centre itself. Pool was nice to come back to for a late afternoon rest and swim. Staff very friendly especially the bar man who had great knowledge of the lovely red wines..Breakfast good and varied from fruits to pastry’s and eggs buffet style. Would recommend a stay at this hotel.

The club Sandwich at lunch it was very poor.

Very confusing, when we tried to have dinner at the restaurant. They sent us to the bar, because the restaurant was fully booked. That was fine but, then they told us we could only have snacks not dinner. We then asked the manager why, as the bar area was literally just next door, no trouble for the service staff. After about 10 minutes the waitress I formed us we could choose something from the room service menu. It all comes out of the same kitchen, so why is it so complicated? The left hand doesn’t seem to know what the right hand is doing, it seems.

Clean and tidy room which looked upto date and not old or tired. Bathroom clean. Hotel was in easy walking distance to town centre and also well located to call into the local supermarket for provisions and fuel for our onward journey. Easy check out.

The reception desk was not easily recognisable for initial check in and I had to ask a member of staff at the bar. once someone came out to greet me, all was fine.

Good room, nice and quiet. Delicious dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Room was to too hot despite the A/C on full. Bed was soaked by the morning. A/C controls a bit antiquated. The achingly cool reception desk just makes life harder for the poor souks that have to work there.

Easy to find with secure parking and an easy walk to the centre of town. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Nice pool (although we didn't use). Great breakfast options. A much higher standard than we were expecting for a "stopover" hotel.

I have a Tesla car and to have a hotel which takes animals, where I can easily recharge the car and is a few minutes walk from the centre of beautiful Beaune is a treat and it is the most pleasant part of my long journey to London from near Avignon.

I treated myself to a dinner in the restaurant. I would have done better to buy a sandwich. I bought a half bottle of white beaujolais for a lot of money to go with my meal and within an hour I had a huge headache. I never have this with my local Côtes du Rhône wines, so they have put some horrible stuff in this wine. A great pity and it spoiled what would otherwise been a very serene stay.
