Steigenberger Aldau Beach Hotel

Everything, the greenery designs, spacious, food, pool, sea .. it was wonderful

The reservation process, i booked through booking and the hotel took full amount upon check in, without deducting the held amount and i had to wait for a month for the downpayment to be released.. this was really uncomfortable for me, Despite the fact that i asked several times the status and the reception staff said max 2 days to be released, then they said 2 weeks, until the system returned it automatically after 1 month

The location with wonderful garden, the amassing large swimming pool, and my De-Luxe room. All supported with a great staff. food

My departure / pickup time from the Hotel was (taxi at 13:00 (start lunch time)) I was not aware that I could prepare a kind of "take away" I was informed by other (leaving) quest who kindly offered me lunch box. This can be more clearly communicated to leaving quest. Leaving your room is standard 12:00 "as soon as you checkout out at the reception the WIFI is cancelled. So to make advantage of your WIFI connection if you leave later do not checkout at the reception before you are leaving the Hotel. Tip for the Hotel disconnect the WIFI for quest at 24:00 (End of the day)

I loved the premises; very well maintained. The food was delicious and the variety was great.

The hotel was super crowded and packed. It was hard to find empty seats on the pool. The main restaurant was always swarming and thus very loud and chaotic.

The speed of service is distinguished in this hotel. A proper system is implemented for monitoring and evaluation for guests happiness and satisfaction. The hotel is led by an elegant leader (Mr. Hassan Ebeid) who is working hard to ensure the high satisfaction for his guests. The hotel is energised by a very professional friendly team, and I recieved a very supportive professional treatment from Mr. Mohamed Darwish (Front Office Manager) and his team (Amgad and Abdelmesih). Very big green territory with big pools. Very clean hotel and didn't find insects l, although it has huge territory. The hotel considers many facilitates for people of determination. Great efforts from the kids club team. Variety of food and different restaurants and cuisines. Providing life shows and music during dinner time. Many different facilities are available at this hotel. Special thanks for Magdy (housekeeping)for cleaning our room through exceptional way. Many thanks for restaurant team (Sherif, Mohamed, Hamdy, and Ahmed Hussien) for the great service.

The only thing that hinders me to rate the hotel fully, is the house keeping official whom I contacted to request keeping the iron in my room for the whole stay. Unfortunately, but he refused and informed me that I am entitled for an iron 2-3 hours daily based on a request! I am expecting a 5 stars Hotel to equip each room by iron and ironing table. This simple thing doesn't need huge cost and definitely will increase guests satisfaction. To sum up, I recommend the management to consider these areas of improvement: -Procurement team to buy irons and ironing tables. - To train the room service officials on how to communicate professionaly with guests in order to present Steigenberger's world brand as per its standards.

I'd give it 12 stars but the scale only goes up to 10. The place is amazing and if you want to relax and be treated exceptionally don't even bother searching for anything else.

The lobby was beautiful and the entire place was clean throughout

The cafeteria was small and didn’t accommodate the number of guests. The breakfast menu was not good. It didn’t have good variety and only catered for certain group of people

This is the 4th time for me at Steigenberger Al Dau Beach and not the last time , as the facility , rooms , pools ...etc. are exceptional. Receptionist Mr Omar was welcoming and keen for feedback on any complains from guests. Main Restaurant manager Mr. Ahmad was very nice and greeting everyone all the time and make sure that everything is ok. Alex Beach Restaurant is the best and Manager Hanna was very welcoming. The 2 asian restaurants are very good ( Sumo House & Samurai Teppanyaki).

Beach and pools staff don't give Egyptians the same attention and good treatment as foreigners. This is not a new complaint but the same case since my first visit ( 13 years ago) and i heard this from a lot of other guests. And I am not sure if this is a hotel management issue or staff. Especially that we are paying the same rate and higher rate sometimes. Some Restaurants need revision find below my feedback; Main Restaurant : Food was good but not the same quality as my previous visits ( same opinion for more than one guest). Bwala pool restaurant has declined significantly in terms of food quality and staff. Previously was a very good restaurant. Tanga Beach restaurant is the worst one and I advise all the people to avoid booking it.

Food was very good in the main restaurant with lots of variety, staff very helpful and friendly, the pool area is great, nice entertainment every night. It is very good for families.

Although the hotel is wonderful, and this is my second time at the hotel, but I have two comments: one staff from the guest relations asked us to write a review on TripAdvisor, I wish that this could be done by email, so that I can fill it in my free time (it doesn't have to be in front of her, she even took screenshots of our review to show it to management), and it doesn't have to be for every member in the family (as it is a lengthy process). One more thing (I know it might be my bad luck), but my utensils cutlery were not clean (the fork had lipstick stain on it) at the pool restaurant.

Amenities, food, rooms

Staff favours foreign guests over locals. Staff are not hospitable, some of them even do not return a good morning. They brighten up though once they see a foreign guest.

We chose this hotel because we are vegans and it was recommened to us - meaning lots of choices for people who do not eat animal products. The Staff and Chefs were very kind and helpful and it was 99% great. The food overall was generous, delicious and well presented. The Sushi restaurant was awful for vegans but everything else great including non dairy in hot drinks no problem. The service at the beach and pools was great for towels and drinks etc. We enjoyed the snorkeling trip out to the reef on Aldau 9 the glass bottomed boat. Special thanks to Yousef on reception who was very kind and remembered us when we needed to ask a question or make arrangements. The hotel is very clean and elegant and we recommend it. We did not have children with us but the kids pool and play area looked fantastic. Gardens were lovely. There were lots of activities we didn't do because of lack of time but felt that this was a bonus and there was lots of choice. We loved the cocktails and mocktails and nice bar staff. Thank you to all of the Managers and Staff who clearly work very hard for the guests.

only two wifi connections per room, so tough if you both have phones and laptops/tablets etc. The bar areas are very dark in the evenings. The booming disco noise from adjacent resports was annoying but not in the room and less at the beach area. We were pestered a little too much for spa treatments but with the red bag option on the umbrellas this was not a problem once we realised we could do this.
