Hotel Monarca

The central location was perfect--in the midst of the city! It is so close to the parks and the Basílica Virgen de la Altagracia. Food in the Dominican Republic is always inexpensive. The service at La Monarca is amazing. I love 💓 the receptionist, Albani! The receptionists were lovely. The service staff is stupendous. The owners, Mary and Daniel, stop by and greet you like an honored guest. I truly felt at home. I didn't want to go home.

Nothing. It was an absolute great place to visit. For those looking for food, use the PedidosYa app--it's like Doordash. If you are worried about bringing toiletries don't worry. There's a colmado steps away from the hotel. Transportation is not a problem either since the hotel staff can help call a cab, private transportation, and there is a motorcycle taxi spot downstairs. The noise level is negligible; make sure to close your windows. I slept like a baby every night despite that. If you're looking for night life, there are plenty of spots around town. Make sure to book an excursion to a river, waterfall, or national park, too.

Good location and the hotel was 4 mns to the basilica, staff were very friendly. When I arrived at the hotel they are already prepared the paper for the check-in you feel like you are home. I recommend you the hotel you wouldn’t regret your choice if you choose to stay there.

There’s nothing you will not love about the hotel

Very nice and modern hotel, and it's noticeable that the staff is in it with all its heart to help you with anything you need. Hotel does not offer food, but cooperates with a nearby restaurant that delivers into your room.

Hotel is a bit away from the city centre, prepare to be mobile :) There is a "kitchen" in every room, but no stove/oven/sink, only a microwave, and no plates or cutlery (you might get some from the staff if you asked, we didn't try that because we ate from restaurants). So actually cooking is not possible.

we were talking in our room at a moderate level but suddenly received a call from the front desk asking us to lower our voices. This was at 5:30pm, not late at all. I was disappointed in this because every morning we were awaken around 7:30 by very loud conversations in the hallway but it was not addressed in the same manner.

Parking lot was a bit hard to exit.

The room was exceptional big and comfortable. Extremely clean and quiet! The bar and rooftop terrace was delightful!
