Residencia El Balatà

Breakfast, cleanliness, the decoration style, the pool, the friendly pets (3 cats and two dogs), mopeds to rent, cleaning staff were excellent (thank you!), water dispensers everywhere. We extended for a night and overall had a great time.

You will be expected to pay a 4% fee on top of the total price because they dont have a card machine. You pay via a mobile link. This is really poor given lots of other people appear to have complained about this too in the past and it's just not normal. Of course you can pay with cash but there's no free to use atms in the DR. The road is very busy and loud.

The hotel is very nice, clean and maintained (even the swimming pool), with armed security as it is far from the "city center", the staff is very nice, English speaking reception. The breakfast was very tasty, continental type, with the specialty coffee. It is situated to the main road, but it is quiet place anyway - e.g.nice terrace for morning/night yoga. The hotel provides complimentary potable water by the swimming pool. Payment in USD or pesos.

The hotel is quite far from the "city center", i.e. you should use taxi/motoconcho or your car to have the dinner/shop etc., which increases the price of acommodation. We have got the room behind the breakfast place, so we felt a little bit pushed away, seemed as it was the room for staff. The beach is approx 20 min by walk from the hotel. At the time of our visit, the payment terminal was out of order and as we rather did not have much of cash, the online payment and exchange rate cost extra money as well. The price of breakfast is without tax as the price of acommodation.

This beautiful place was spotless! I've rarely been to a place that kept the room and grounds so clean. What I especially loved was the (interior) design and decor of the place. Everywhere you looked it was just so pretty! The room was spacious and beautiful. We only used the ceiling fan and that was more than enough. Breakfast was also delicious!

This is more on me than on the hotel but I was under the impression that it would be more secluded and that there would be more nature surrounding the hotel. However it was right on the road. Luckily at night it gets very quiet and ultimately the location is great and central.

The place was just as beautiful as the pictures state. The staff were friendly and all of the surroundings clean. The bed was comfortable and air condition was working well. The breakfast was tasty and fresh. Coffee tasted amazing! Room had good lighting and in the bathroom there was warm water and even an European electricity socket (not common in the DR).

The sounds from the nearby road were a bit noisy, but understandable because of the location. It was still much more calm than other parts of Las Terrenas. Could be fixed with ear plugs though!

The lady of the Residence was very kind, helpful, available for anything. The room was clean, big. Bathroom very clean. Breakfast was also delicious and good. The location is also good and calm.

I would recommend to people who are sensitive to air current and suffer from sinusite to take a room with airco. Because the ventilator is on top of the bed and for me it was hell, I had to switch it off and sleep in a hot tempreture... so better to take a room with air co.

The property is beautifully decorated and minimalistic with lovely plants everywhere that compliment the theme. the pool was the perfect temperature all the time and it was nice to be able to just sit by the pool and hangout.

The only things we didn’t like was how bright the room got in the morning. the curtains didn’t help. and the beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. i do wish the pool closed a little bit later so we could come back from a day out and relax in the pool at night. but 9:00 isnt too bad.

The look and style of the hotel is really awesome, the pool area and rooms are really chic and it makes a comfortable feeling! The owners are very friendly and helpful with everything, I got a special vegan breakfast which was very delicious! The location is a bit outside of the main places but that’s what we liked, also we enjoyed the 25 min walk to the beach in the morning because the scenery is so nice! and you can easily take a motorbike if you don’t want to walk which are not very expensive

bed was a bit hard and most of the staff does only speak Spanish (but this is normal for the Dominican Republic)

The accommodation is a little paradise. It looks just as beautiful as in the pictures. Everything is designed with natural materials and colors. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is super tasty and rich. Should be booked in any case. What's also nice is that free water dispensers are available. We can definitely recommend this accommodation. We felt very comfortable and safe.

Since the accommodation is located a bit outside of Las Terrenas, it is helpful to have a car. Otherwise, it is a bit difficult to get to the beach or to the restaurants. Otherwise, of course, you can take a motor taxi.

Staff was great pool small but confortable.. realy peacefull place..

The bed was too hard.. 4 beds all the same hard.. same conplain from my kids..

Lovely family-run boutique hotel, spotlessly clean, nice pool & gardens, serving the most wonderful breakfast! Melanie was very helpful in providing advice and helping us organise an excursion.

Only downside was it was a good 20-30 mins walk to restaurants, so ended up driving to eat out
