Hotel Villa Amarilla

The vibe there was so relaxing. There was always a friendly staff member around to help if you needed anything. A nice touch with the basket of sunscreen lotion and beach towels to use. The fresh fruit, pastries and coffee set up in the morning was perfect to grab whenever you wanted whether you are an early-bird person or sleepy-head. We loved the lounging areas and especially the chairs to sit and watch the waves, swim or surf just steps from the gate. I also felt safe with the locked gate at night to the Main Street. We loved our stay and will be back.

Nothing to mention at all

Love coming to this hotel as the hospitality is always awesome from the office staff, Diego and Ehymus handling all the activities, to the cleaning staff that are on it, the massage tables on location with amazing masseuse, and the totally laid back courtyard. You get to meet all the guest if that's your style or just do your own thing. Best part is walking out the back gate to an incredible beach. It's very safe and secure.

It does tend to get noisy at night when you're trying to sleep. So, earplugs or a sound app for your earbuds would do the trick.

Was right on the beach and there was a very nice breeze because of it. The animals were cute and friendly. Owner was nice and always helped us accommodate our parking on street issue. Very chill vibe and not a lot of loud people stayed so it was nice and quiet at night. Rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. AC was great too. Kitchen was small but manageable. Would gladly stay here again.

The shower would drop pressure at random times but still did the job. Not much we didn’t like about this place. Great stay.

Great, great location. Exactly what we wanted...a hotel on the beach. Very secure location, with wonderful hosts. The morning breakfast was fresh fruit, juice and baked goods. (I think there was coffee too, but I'm not a coffee drinker). I loved that we were so close to the downtown area (within walking distance) and found so many great places to eat and buy treats/snacks/ice cream. Would highly recommend this property!

you couldn’t ask for a better location. the hotel is located directly on the beach, with a beautiful garden to relax in if you’re not into lazing around on the sand. they offer outdoor massages and surfing lessons with locals. both were great experiences. TJ and Elena were great hosts and they have some very friendly rescue animals on the property. our room was perfect for crashing at night and the cleaning lady provided clean towels and fresh sheets every morning. there is a small community kitchen in the garden area and the provided breakfast of fruit, pastries and coffee is self serve throughout the morning. we had a very tough time leaving Villa Amarilla and can’t wait to come back!

we had an incredible stay overall but the last two days, the shower pressure was very low.

Location is great. Right on the beach on one side and main street with all shops and restaurants on the other side. What's not to like. You are in the centre of everything. Breakfast was nothing special. Not exactly breakfast but very nice muffins an cake. Fresh local fruit. I don't need anything more to be fair, therefore I was pretty pleased with the breakfast. Wonderful, friendly people at Hotel Villa Amarilla. Manager Elena extremely friendly and helpful. Will stop anything she is doing just to help, assist or provide you with information. Owner T.J. is wonderful host. Diego can book any trip, excursion you can imagine - right on the property. Two masseuse right on the property - next to the beach. Excellent massage. Eymhus and his team are excellent surf instructors, also right on the property. Hotel Villa Amarilla is one stop shop.

Place and people were great. No complains what so ever.

the water pressure as well as the temperature were off at certain times a day but I am not sure if this is something that can be fixed or it’s a town issue. we had a little war with little flying bugs in our room as well. in the evening they would come into the room and just lounge on the wall and by then lights. we had issues with bugs in other places in Costa Rica as well and I know our in the nature it’s hard to avoid them sometimes. wish we knew where they were coming from to let the property manager know

This was the best vacation ever. It all started when we were greeted by Elena at the Hotel. She gave us a late night tour and was so sweet. The view, beach access, the laid back vibe, the rescued animals, all the fun surf instructors and all the staff at the hotel made our vacation. And the banana bread and fruit and coffee every morning was fantastic. We were in the heart of Tamarindo and at the best surf spot as well. The people at the Hotel Villa Amarilla was one of the main highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. We can't wait to go back.

We loved everything.

Delicious breakfast with fresh fruit and banana bread, beachfront hotel with cute cats on property. The hotel also offers free beach towels, sunscreen, and surf boards to borrow. The receptionist messaged us on WhatsApp ahead of time to see if needed anything or help prior to our stay and stayed in touch. It was thoughtful.

Hard to find parking in front of hotel. The receptionist did make an effort to keep a spot open for us.

The staff was so friendly, Elena really goes up and above to make sure we felt welcome and to answer any questions and help us out with anything we asked. The location is perfect! You feel very safe there and the grounds are cozy like my own backyard. They did have good pillows also, the room and grounds were very clean..

The beds... 1st- if you are a couple make sure of what room you are getting.. I guess we must have had a family room but the only bed my husband and I could sleep together in was a bottom buck bed.. That didnt go over to well for us. we wont do that again.
