Tango Mar Beachfront Boutique Hotel & Villas

The view of the beach was spectacular.

Our dinner on Valentine's evening was somewhat of a disappointment. It took over 30 minutes for the food to arrive after we placed the order. Also, the waitress let us know when we were ready for the Valentine menu desert that they were out of the two choices. I asked if we would be able to have the desert cost removed from our order and she said that we could not. She did offer an alternative of ice cream but I was disappointed in how she handled it. There should have been enough deserts for everyone that night.

We had a wonderful stay at Tango Mar! The location is absolutely stunning! We had a gorgeous ocean view! The pools were beautiful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was fantastic, very kind and friendly. The owner of the resort was also wonderful and checked in with us at dinner and breakfast to make sure our stay was going well. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset from a viewing point on the property. Our dinner at the restaurant was delicious. We would recommend this resort to anyone. We hope to return someday!

Hotel was absolutely wonderful. It looks like paradise. That ocean was so wild,clean and that nature around was maggical! Staff was friendly and answer our questions with smile, we like Sarif and Javier very much! Food was tasty and we love everything about this stay!

Location, around this hotel is not much to do, if you want to go to nearest city(Santa Tereza) be ready that 30min by taxi cost around 60€. Taxi is really overpriced! But hotel is so beautiful that you can stay there forever. :)

A wonderful place, with delicious food, and beautiful landscapes. We had an issue in our room related to a leak in one of the pipes, after we report it, the hotel send someone immediately and after a quick inspection they offered a new room, in similar experiences we had to wait for a repair, but on this occasion the staff was really nice and we were their priority.

The price for most of the food was in par with the quality, but a few dishes were really expensive for the quantity/ingredients, ask the staff for details of the food if you have any questions or feel something is off

The property is BEAUTIFUL! The tropical foliage itself made my stay as well as waking up and going to sleep to the sound of the ocean. The staff is wonderful and very welcoming! First class service all five days I was there.

There was nothing to dislike - the property is in a very secluded part of the island and the road to get there is tough but the fact that it is not accessible to just anyone made me feel a little more secure .

Amazing beach and beach view around the hotel. Pretty nice and quiet off the busyness of Montezuma. Various pool locations around the property.

If fully booked out, the pool area might be somewhat crowded and we are not sure if enough sunbeds would be around to cover a fully booked Tango Mar Resort. Pool bar is cute, but drinks are quite expensive, given the lack of competition around the premises.

Beautiful location on a very nice private beach. This is clearly a big plus and the place scores the points based on this.

This is clearly not a "boutique hotel". It is well passed its best days and needs to invest into equipment and maintenance. The furniture in the rooms is old and outdated, chairs by the pool used, reception area shabby and not very pleasant. Pools are OK, but not great, WiFi connection is more of a joke. Food in the restaurants is basic. We left two days earlier than planned and nobody even asked as why. The rating we have given to the place is due to the location, because the service and equipment is clearly not good. I could go on and on, but hopefully this shows the picture as we have seen it.

This is an absolute gem in the southern Nicoya peninsula, perfect for pure relaxation and good dining. With a huge property and a small number of rooms, it is a haven of peace and tranquility with one of the most private and beautiful beaches we have seen in Costa Rica. The restaurant serves top notch food at reasonable prices - everything we tried was excellent and beautifully presented. Whatever your need, Hilde and her staff will do whatever to make it happen.

Location on the beach with swim up pool bar. Beautiful grounds with tons of wildlife and activities to keep you entertained and exploring. Attentive staff and great breakfast.

Restaurant apps were not great in our experience. Difficult to book some excursions if there aren’t enough participants staying at the hotel.

Great location, with beautiful Beach and surroundings. The hotel is a little dated, but very well kept still, very comfortable and cleaning and service was impeccable. Breakfast was good, but for someone with food allergies I would have wished to see more items that catered to that.

Would have loved allergy information labeled on the food selection to be able to eat safely. Specifically dairy and gluten free items. This also goes for the restaurant menu. Wish they had been able to cater to vegans and people with food restrictions better and give clear and correct information about their menu. We asked for adjustments to my meals but were told it wasn’t possible. Chose to eat elsewhere most of the time for that reason.
