Pumilio Mountain & Ocean Hotel

We loved the King Room on the second floor overlooking the pool. It opened to the west which made it feel more open on the patio. The room and patio configuration was great.

The only thing we didn’t like was that there were very young kids on the first floor, and their parents let them out on the patio and pool deck area at 6 am. The boy talked very loud, screamed and just never stopped. His parents allowed him to wander all over on his own (approx. 3 yrs old.) completely unattended in some cases. I’m sure everyone facing the pool was awake at 6 am. On the other hand there were other slightly older and much better behaved kids staying there and they were lovely. So if you have kids that like to roam freely and loudly, pick a more open kid friendly location.

we loved the stylish room with the balcony and open air kitchenette. the pool was nice. and the breakfast was extraordinary with a live chef! it’s directly next to a small river and trees, giving beautiful surroundings and the ambience of a small and modern boutique hotel. we could do fast and easy loundry service.

unfortunately, the hotel has no restaurant and simply a room service with horrendous prices. the hotel is quite far away (~10min drive) to jaco town and beach. you must have a car. on both nights, we heard other guests partying at the pool with alcohol and loud music (even though it’s “prohibited”) and smashing doors. that was a big minus.

Lovely spacious clean room overlooking pool. Staff were helpful and the breakfast was relaxed and very good. We particularly liked the fresh egg station! Outside kitchen was a bonus and great to have our own fridge.

We had been told we could check in at 9am and they were not expecting us. We were able to wait by pool and room was ready by 11.

We arrived very late and the front desk personnel, April, was amazing in checking us in fast and helping us book our crocodile tour for the next day, and allowed us a late check out to accommodate our needs. Furthermore, we were very happy with our room which was facing the pool and had a beautiful view!

Beautiful rooms

The swimming pool was very small. not big enough for all the people staying there. Also there was no restaurant (except for breakfast) and no restaurants close by. We also were without electricity so we had no air conditioning or water to shower or flush the toilet until the next day late in the morning. we were leaving that day but we were able to take a rush shower before we left.

Everything and everyone was excellent!! Very quiet and boutique hotel with wonderful staff. The property was surrounded by lavish nature, the breakfast area was on a patio overlooking rainforest. I would love to come back!!

Laundry room

The hotel is very nicely integrated into the surroundings, with a great feeling of nature outside your bed. Rooms are nice with kitchens in the open, facing the poolside. Friendly and good value

Great breakfast. Many choices and loved being near so many birds! This was our third visit and will return again. Quiet, safe location. Staff was so helpful in getting someone to come in and do pedicures, also arranging pizza delivery one night.

The receptionist lady was exceptionally friendly and nice. She helped us a lot. Also, the property was close to the main street and with a nice pool area, the room spacious.
