Hotel Port Aux Basques

The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff who were going through a terrible time with Hurricane Fiona was absolutely amazing. It is an older hotel, clean and well cared for with such a friendly ambience. It is not a new luxurious spot but it is very clean and the staff are amazingly helpful and friendly. We would recommend this to anyone.

The location was great, right near the ferry. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly at the front desk and the restaurant.

We are older with health issues and would have been nice to have a room on the ground floor. But we understand rooms are limited.

The room was exceptional! Nicest room we have ever stayed in!

Not the fault of your hotel ... but we got lost on the way and when we arrived the parking lot was full. Had to carry our luggage from the far corner of the lot and then upstairs.

These people were working through Hurricane Fiona and were helpful and friendly and efficient, even though they weren't sure their house was okay. If you had a concern or a need they were there to help|! The Hotel owners should be proud of their staff!

The rooms are somewhat dated but the ambience fits the Hotel.

The hotel was easy to find, as it is close to the highway and close to the ferry to NS. The rooms are very basic but clean, and with a private bathroom. It was within walking distance to a grocery store, and a few other amenities. The staff was friendly. There is a restaurant on site. It was a good place to stay for one night. Parking was free.

The restaurant did not have many menu options, but the staff was super friendly. Breakfast was not included.

Great location and friendly people. I forgot my camera charger in my room after check out, and was already in line at the ferry. I received a call from the front desk letting me know I left this arrival behind, the staff said do t worry we will bring it to you, 10 minutes later it was in my hands. Great service.

Even though they were short staffed and overwhelmed with customers the staff were pleasant and did their best to accommodate everyone. Breakfast took awhile but worth waiting for!

The location was excellent (very close to the ferry port) and right on the water. It was also neat that the Newfoundland Rescue helicopter lands and takes off on the parking lot of the hotel (my kids loved that).

The fawcett for the shower didn't work properly and the plug didn't hold water in the tub. We had a second room with a properly working shower and plug so it wasn't a problem. The front desk made a note for maintenance to look into the problem.

great location right off the highway. The restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. The internet worked well and was easy to connect to. The beds were comfortable.

Just stairs to the second floor. There is only one guest washer and drier and the drier didn’t work well.

The restaurant food was excellent. Close proximity to the ferry was excellent. Beds were comfortable.

The.room was very small and the walls paper thin so you could hear conversation from adjacent rooms. There was a noise complaint from an adjacent room, however, the wall mounted very small sized TV was on very low. The TV mount could have been on the same wall as the bed of the adjacent room. Less than ideal for noise privacy.
