Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Saint John Harbour Side, an IHG Hotel

AMAZING breakfast! Very helpful front counter staff, and I liked the book of menus they had for helping choose dinner location. Incredible view (though we did have the best room in the hotel). Lots of parking. I liked that pillows were labeled as firm or soft. Lots of USB plugs.

Helpful details were posted around the hotel, but I often noticed too late, such as breakfast overflow seating and how to let staff know we didn't need cleaning on a multi day stay. I wish there was space in the breakfast area for a large family (all tables for 2 or 4, except one tall table). I found the cleaning staff started super early, which made us feel a bit pressured to get out quickly (though they were always polite). It was difficult to get out of the pool area from the dry off space without getting wet again, maybe put the towels closer to the door?

The hotel is clean. The room is very spacious and good equipped. The beds and bedding are fantastic! The breakfast is great.

Location is not very attractive. The very unpleasant moment was that one minute after our check out I remembered that I forgot one pair of pants in the room. I run back to reception and the concierge reactivated my card. When i got to my 6th floor the card didn’t work. There was a cleaning lady nearby who saw us leaving. But when I begged her to open me the door she refused to help. So I needed to go back to reception and ask for help. Finally with all this turmoil we lost 15 minutes and it left me with very unpleasant feelings about our stay. It was unfriendly incident.

hot tub cold(cold water coming out of jets), cranky staff member at the breakfast room on Saturday, not getting the room I had booked November 1! could not book as a team but was scolded for not letting him know even though we all booked separately. people that booked recently got a king suite which I requested and paid for. the man at the desk was lovely this morning and changed it on the bill. managed was told it was full for booking teams

The cleanest of the areas, the hotel has Dove products in all bathrooms and the smell is really pleasant. The front desk attendants are professional and make you feel welcome. The view on the harbor is so nice, with a long patch of grass for the dogs to play and ... Again, the areas are clean. The parking lots are adjacent to the hotel which is great for quick access and security.

The most comfortable beds and bedding!! nicely set room, clean. amazing view to the harbour. Breakfast was nice, kids loved the automated pancake maker. Staff dealt with issues very quickly.

Not much variety for hot breakfast, usual bacon and eggs. no potatoes or beans. No options for those who do not eat pork or bacon. Nowadays you can also offer turkey or chicken sausages or "bacon". When I asked, reluctantly the kitchen staff brought turkey patties but these looked and tasted like dog food. Some devices did not connect to their wifi.

Delicious breakfast with many options to choose from. Comfortable beds. Lovely Dove soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided. Strong shower pressure. Clean rooms.

The first of our three nights was unpleasant due to other guests allowing their children to run up and down the hallway screaming as well as opening and closing their doors repeatedly in the middle of the night. Our remaining two nights were peaceful.

The location was good..walkable to town. It was clean and appeared remodeled.

I booked a room with 2 queens. Was given a room with 1 queen..no change in price. Only one washer/dryer for the entire 7 floor hotel. It was so busy we had to wait until midnight before we could get our hands on the washer. Was up until past 2am to get 2 loads of laundry done.

we had asked for handicapped access and got convenient parking, a first floor room with all necessary accessibility features; very friendly staff. motorized blinds on the window were fun.

no restaurant in hotel, but a fine pub close by. view out window was of parking lot, NOT of the reversing falls nearby which we had (apparently mistakenly) expected.

The breakfast had a reasonably diverse selection of foods. Love the shampoo,conditioner, body wash and lotion in the shower! Loved the Keurig coffee machine! Loved the little square foot stools? Used them to open my suitcase on. Liked the nightlight in the bathroom as well as the grab bar by the bathtub. Tommi at your front desk was excellent! She helped us multiple times and always with a smile.

We were in our room 3 days and had to ask housekeeping for fresh towels as our old ones were wet and to empty our full garbage/recycle bin. Not sure if the lack of service is due to COVID or not. In other hotels we stayed at actually had notices up to let us know if we needed anything to call to a specific extension. At least that way we knew what to expect and who to call.

The staff were friendly and helpful despite the key card issues we had they were resolved by the staff. The rooms were large and spacious and clean with comfortable beds.

Unless you had a harbour view, you over looked the road or carpark. Train line nearby which could be a little loud when going past even with windows closed.
