Sidney Waterfront Inn

Good breakfast. Wish there were a few more tables in the breakfast area. Best location, convenient to everything. Awesome seaside view which was the best we have ever had in oceanfront property. Beautiful clean suite with large comfy queen beds. Fireplace a nice touch. Suite was very large with two large queen beds, two comfortable chairs , nice large table to sit at with a couple of chairs. Beautiful deep jacuzzi tub which was very relaxing.

Bathroom was a bit dark. This could be easily fixed with brighter light fixture and a lighted makeup mirror. With those two items it would be a great bathroom!

Our room was looking a little worn, but the bed was ok, and the sheets clean. The location is great, as you are right at the Sidney fishing pier. "Downtown" Sidney is just steps away, so access to shopping, restaurants, etc. is a short walk. If you are going to the Surly Mermaid, be sure to make reservations. Most restaurants close pretty early and it was very busy there on a Wednesday night.

The room was very basic. No comfortable place to sit, other than the bed. The air conditioner is a small window type, and was fairly loud. I had to set the temp down to 18 degrees C to get it to cool the room enough.

We thought we would have to cancel our booking last minute due to a forest fire that closed the main road from Ucluelet. We did not think we had a travel option to take us to Sidney in time for our reservation and flight next day. We spoke to Nicky, who went out of her way to encourage us plan a trip using the old logging trail that would take us extra time to navigate. She assured us that our room would be held until we arrived or mostly refunded if we decided to wait out the fire closure. She made us feel confident that we could make the trip (and we did). She was the one to greet us when we arrived. We were very impressed with the service and support.

Great location and wonderful Ocean view from the room! The room was quite big with very comfortable bed, a couch and table with chairs area, lovely patio. Very clean and comfortable. Having breakfast included was a very nice bonus. Breakfast room is small, but we had the option of taking coffee back to the room and enjoy it on the wonderful patio with great view.

The only issue we had was that our room was somehow marked as Checked out while were still there, so there was somebody coming in while we were still having breakfast and morning walk. We mentioned that when we actually checked out and received an apology.

The property was close to mouth watering dining experiences, and boasted spectacular views from the balcony and only steps away from Sea Glass Beach. Being so close to the ocean made for an enjoyable first time ocean experience for the kids. Staying at the Sidney Waterfront was spectacular for a nice close scenic drive into Victoria via Lochside Drive with some wonderful stops along the way. The staff at the hotel are super friendly and make you feel like family.

The hotel itself was excellent - very easy to find and check in, was blown away by the rooms and the amenities. Unfortunately we had an early flight so weren’t able to get breakfast but the fact it was included with the room was very impressive

Everything was great the staff were friendly but busy when we checked in, my only partial complaint would be that maybe one more front desk team member at busy times would be beneficial but I also very much understand this isn’t always possible

Check-in was quick and simple at a lobby in the Inn. Luxury suits were across a carpark in a multi-purposed building. The room was well appointed and fairly quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchenette was adequately appointed for just two guests.

The portable cooking hob was a neat inclusion but when in use became inconvenient as countertop space then became less. When not in use it had to be stashed in a cupboard. I would recommend this venue and would consider a re-visit.

Location, location, location. This is an older, but very charming hotel with amazing views of the Sidney harbour. The staff are friendly and helpful. One staff in particular is worthy of mention and that is Debbie who worked the night shift on March 8th. That night Debbie assisted us to find a local restaurant that served a dish we were looking to eat. Later that night, she assisted us during a very busy and stressful incident at the hotel. She remained calm, professional and helpful throughout. Yes, there is a daily basket that serves a continental type of breakfast. The basket is filled with a fruit cup, yogurt, juice box and choice of breakfast wrap. We supplemented this with our own cereal as there is a bar fridge and microwave in the room. The breakfast wrap wasn't our favourite but all in all - it satisfied us. In addition, we brought our ebikes with us and the hotel provided indoor, secure storage for them. Perfect. The Lochside Trail starts minutes from the hotel and carries through north or south a considerable distance. We are so glad we chose to stay in Sidney and this hotel for our week's vacation.

The pillows could use an upgrade. But, the beds are comfortable the room very quiet.

The location was beautiful. The room was clean and fresh. Loved the air conditioning. Breakfast was ok had to learn how to use the toaster should bring in another one that is four slice toaster. Another person had to use the waffle machine. Maybe some instructions would be good on how to use the equipment. The supply of food was there for anyone who needed it.

I can't say there was anything wrong. The front desk was very helpful and friendly.

We were greeted by a friendly staffer who checked us in quickly and efficiently. We were surprised to receive a breakfast bag - came in handy as we enjoyed it before heading to the airport. The room was spacious and clean! Wish we could have stayed longer to fully explore Sidney.

When we arrived @5pm, parking spaces in front of the hotel were limited due to a large truck parked there. Also, the spaces are a bit tight size-wise but we were told at check -in there were more spaces in the back and side of the building.
