Windsor Motel

It was centrally located.

The WiFi didn’t really work. It would either let me join with less than 1 bar (which mean it can’t even load anything) and then kick me off or it would say I couldn’t join at all. So frustrating , especially since I was there for 3 nights. I ended up using my hot spot from my iPhone and never had a problem getting WiFi on my iPad. Wasn’t even trying anything that took a lot of juice to connect to (basically playing word puzzles & jigsaw puzzles). I told the front desk they should give me a discount on my room rate but they ignored that option.

Hotel conveniently located in town, opposite park, with lovely scenery nearby. Room was spacious and very well furnished with a touch of Victorian elegance and luxury. Microwave, fridge, coffeemaker etc. all good. Bed very comfortable. Very quiet and relaxing. Great value.

I chose a ground floor room with windows looking out onto the street and found it lacked privacy with curtains open. This was not really a problem, and would not be a problem at all for a second story room.

Everything basically from the location, cleanliness, comfort of the bed, washroom, complimentary towels to use, self check-out at our own pace in the morning leaving keys in the room and locking the door then go to the reception desk. I would happily stay here again.

The person at the reception called me while I was on the way to the property to check what time I was coming? I understand they want to finish for the day and go home but I don't recommend doing that. Please don't call and chase the guest to come in sooner so you can go home, you said check-in till 11 pm, so it is open till 11 pm.

Service was exceptional...I booked on line just before closing... recieved a phone call and text instructions where to pick up my key because I was arriving after midnight. So very thankfull for the clear instructions and putting my mind at ease knowing I had a place to stay, though I never saw staff when I left to thank them personally, I knew I needed to leave my feed back.

Location is good. We can see the Rambo carving from the patio! Easy street parking. Reception was nice. Lots of TV channels. Big comfy King bed. Clean. It's all laminate flooring so no old carpet, I like it

We has to carry the microwave over to a desk where it had a plug, & also plug in a lamp. The only way to was by kneeling or laying on the floor to get to the plug. Not a big deal, but I like things plugged in and working when I check into my room. We could not deadbolt the door. Housekeeping walked in unannounced and we were still in bed. They didn't realize we weren't checking out until the following day

The view of the garden was beautiful. The sheets has a high thread count. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I liked the balconies that had chairs and tables.

The idling of diesel trucks at 5 am outside my room. I understand that they are staying there for work and need to be up early for work. Perhaps there is alternative parking for diesel trucks that need to idle at 5 am.

I loved the bed. It had feather pillows, duvet, and mattress top. I felt like i was sleeping on a cloud.

I was disappointed that they did not have an elevator. I usually travel with some equipment and I am not one to pack light. My husband and I had to carry all our bags up a flight of stairs. Normally not an issue but this particular time I had an injury that made stairs very hard to climb even without baggage. Elevator please!

The room was larger than expected with two lounge chairs. While we were there only one night there were ample dressers for a longer visit. The location was in the center of town with a marvelous collection of wooden statues in the park across the street.

Hope closes early; there were few restaurants open after 8. But Rollly's was really good. I had excellent wild caught salmon and superb BC wine: Jackson-Trigg pinot grigio.

The Windsor is a vintage-style motel with large rooms and a balcony (if on the second floor). We liked that the rooms were filled with different kinds of furniture from various eras, all good quality -- no IKEA press board in sight. It was the best deal in Hope for our one night stopover.
