We absolutely loved Windborne and the sweet owners, Mark and Mirja. The gardens and house are beautiful, our comfortable suite had everything we needed. breakfast was lovely, had a fabulous time chatting with Mark and Mirja, and took several walks along the shore, meeting their neighbors, all of whom were equally friendly. We can't recommend Windborne more highly.

Can't think of a thing we didn't like.

A structural issue with the site is its location across the river from a huge paper mill that runs 24 hours a day and is quite noisy at times, especially at night. When the doors are open, it's intrusive. A room with only one living room type chair is always a disappointment, for a couple. Small B & B's often struggle with that.

Great breakfast...conformable bed...and the shower was amazing! Grounds and trees beautiful...location good...friendly hosts...wonderful experience...

No big deal at all...try to get remote fixed...lazy creatures of habit...hate getting up to shut TV off...how did we survive as kids when we had to walk to the TV to change the channel?? :)

Our stay was so amazing that when we were done our trip we came back to stay again! The property is right on the water and filled with all kinds of flowers and trees. Marc and Mirja were fantastic hosts and really went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best experience. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with the best homemade pancakes I have ever eaten. If we are ever in Castlegar again we will definitely be back! Highly recommend this place! 5 stars for sure

The owners were very friendly and accommodating. They gave us a choice for breakfast, which was very tasty, with lovely presentation. They adjusted the temperature and fan for us, even though it changed the setting for the whole house. Beautiful setting.

Everything was lovely.

Breakfast was very good , nicely presented . Property nicely landscaped by Marc and Mirja and a few vintage model airplanes hanging in the trees was really cool . The bird feeder in the backyard was frequently visited by a couple of hummingbirds and a monarch butterfly . We enjoyed their visits while eating breakfast on the patio outside our room . Mirja's landscape paintings throughout made for really nice decor , not something you will see normally see at a B& B . Ended up buying one of her paintings from her downstairs studio , looks great in our place now ! Bedroom had everything we needed and the bed was very supportive . A small private beach is across the street at the river if you want to dip your toes or take a swim . Marc and Mirja were very informative and great to chat with . Would definitely stay again in their lovely home !

I always have a wonderful stay here. Marc and Mirja have created a beautiful oasis. The property and gardens gorgeous - and the rooms and facilities are fantastic. You want for nothing here - they tram have thought if everything to make your stay wonderful including a great breakfast prepared by Marc. Always a great experience.

Breakfast was very good. The host Marc is a great man, very friendly. It was interesting to hear about his travels to South America. He was able to give me a ride to Castlegar airport (charged $50 for that, but it sounded reasonable).

Not sure. I was very happy to sleep in a bed after 5 days of camping.

The property is very good , clean rooms and bath rooms with amazing showers . the breakfast was awesome and very filling. Marc's cooking skills are very good . we had the bread that he had baked and it was great . they ask you the night before what you would like for breakfast .. Since we had to leave early in the morning for our drive back Marc was up early and cooked us a great breakfast . he went out of the way to pack breakfast for my daughter who did not want to eat so early . it is located next to the river great views and downtown is not far maybe 5-7 mins by car .

everything was great . and I think in summers it would be awesome . we will go back there again .the views are great and there are a lot of waling trails if you are interested .

Our room was fantastic. Food was great, great company. Jetted tub was the cake topper.

Location is a pro and con. View of the pulp mill during the day is not the best but at night its very pretty with all the lights.
