Hotel Vila Vrbas

Right on the river and we asked for - and were allocated - rooms with river view. That means though that you also overlook the restaurant which at times was a bit busy - but mostly was empty by 10pm so did not disturb sleep. Rooms were wooden floored and perhaps some people might find them a bit old fashioned - but we thought they had character and were spotlessly clean. Breakfast was ample - and good coffee was served. We chose muesli and yoghurt, bread and cheese, and were served a lot of fruit too. The male receptionist was super friendly and helpful. Bed was large and comfortable - plenty of pillows, towels etc.

Only local channels on TV - so no news in English but not a big thing.

This hotel is located at the best place and our room is facing a landmark view: the fortress over the river. There is a tree outside of the window overwater. The bridge is just in sight. So that's what is the most valuable thing about this room in the hotel.

The breakfast is not a buffet, but ordered a la carte, which was totally fine. What I didn't like was the ham omlette which was extremely salty. I didn't pay attention in the beginning but when I finished half of it, I felt this was an awkward choice. I drank a whole bottle of water later to neutralize that taste.

Very nice location, comfortable, clean facility. There is no elevator, but the receptionist carried our luggage upstairs. The restaurant downstairs, with the huge terraces overlooking the river, is wonderful, food i fine.

the hotel is located at a very busy area, huge amount of cars trying to park...The room was also quite noisy - first, noise from the kitchen of the restaurant downstairs, and then deep into the night music from different other restaurants across the river.

The location above the Vrbas river and next to Kastel fortress is very picturesque. Bear in mind only if there is some music event in the fortress because the sound comes over and it may last late in the night. The hotel is nice and clean and it has also a good restaurant. Therefore the breakfast on the terrace just above the river was tasty. The staff (receptionists, waiters) is very kind. I asked for a free parking slot in advance and even though there are very few slots, they reserved one also in the evening, when there were also quite some guests in the nearest restaurant on the raft on Vrbas. The room/apartment, suitable for 3 persons, is spacious, well equiped and clean - it could be easily granted 4 stars instead of official 3.

I arrived late in the night, so only in the morning did I see that my room had the most amazing outlook onto the river and the old city fortress on the other bank which was just fantastic. My room was large with a big comfy bed and a nice bathroom and fridge. It was very quick to walk into the city, and the hotel is away from the traffic noise of the city centre and its busy main roads. The staff were pleasant, and the breakfast was good (although sadly people can smoke in restaurants in this country which can spoil any meal for non smokers). All in a well located, modern and clean hotel which was good value to stay in.

smoking is allowed in the corridors and the smell can sometimes be felt in the rooms. Hotel restaurant staff was not particularly kind. One waiter felt that it was a cold morning for him and refused to serve us on the terrace.

Excellent hotel. Been here 3 times before and always choose this. (this time though we got a bit smaller room but they fixed the beds ok. Good restaurant on site as well as an good restaurant just outside on the river. Nice and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Close to the river so less hot in summer. Air condition. Very good breakfast on the terrace facing the river and castle. Close to center. Plenty of shops and cafés/bars/restaurants nearby.

The breakfast was good, also the food in the restaurant in the evening. It was nice because the city centre was near. Our motorcycles were safely parked in front of the hotel (we reserved a parking spot in advance) and everything was under cameras :) The staff was also nice.

There was a techno party in the fortress nearby and they played loud music whole night long, so we didn't sleep very well. But that's not the fault of the hotel.

Location is great, it's just a short walk over the bridge to the fortress, city center, and other touristy things. Room and cleanliness were great. Beds are quite firm. A/C was cold. The room we stayed in had a fridge for a mini bar, however, it was big enough to hold our own personal drinks and items, which is incredibly rare with hotel fridges. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel only has 12 parking spots in their lot (the rest belong to the city/pay to park) and you'll need to let them know ahead of time to save you a spot. We were unaware of this, but the lady at the reception was able to reserve us a parking spot for our stay.

Plan a little extra time in the morning for breakfast, if it is included with your stay. The breakfast is downstairs at their restaurant, however, it's not the usual buffet-style as most hotels have; it is a regular restaurant where you sit and order. You are on their pace depending on their level of attention and business. Also, the only thing available to order for breakfast is an omelet. With that said, the restaurant wasn't too busy, so breakfast was still quick (just not as quick as we had allotted for our schedule), and the omelet was plate-sized and absolutely delicious.

The hotel is on the river, and centre of the city, The hotel is beautiful and the beds are comfy but most amazing and outstanding are the employees there, they are kind, helpful, and very friendly, ready to help you whenever you need even though they are very busy. If I ever go back again, I would stick with this hotel Highly recommend.
