Holiday Inn Vienna City, an IHG Hotel

I had a garden view room, it was clean and comfortable. There is a good sofa, a comfortable table, an iron, and also everything you need in the bathroom. I liked that you can have breakfast on the terrace. The breakfast itself was normal, there were some vegetables, which is a plus for me. Small garage, but it was a slot for me when I came.

According to the location of my room (garden, 1st floor), I found an ant on the table. Maybe it could be problem for someone, also should be careful to open window at night:) different “residents” of the garden can visit your room. But it's not a big concern.

Top-quality hotel, as Holiday Inn hotels usually are. Easy to reach from airport and railway station with bus or metro. The area is quite local and quiet, but Naschmarkt and many options for eating and drinking are nearby. The hotel builiding itself is modern and clean and room sizes are OK. Beds are comfy, bathroom spacious, minisafe in room. Very good breakfast with cold and hot food was included in the room price. Very friendly receptionist welcomed us and was able to check us in early, she also gave good suggestions regarding local transport and activities in the fabulous city of Vienna. Hotel gifted us famous Austrian vafels when we check-out. A very nice and lovely gesture :)

There is some noise coming from the bars outside if you have a room facing the street and open window. You can close the window, if it disturbs you.

The staff was friendly and made the stay exceptional. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. I would rate our stay 11 out of 10. It was my wife and I with our 2 kids. They went t out of their way to accommodate our every need. The manager knows what he is doing and it is reflected in the staff - from cooks and servers to housekeeping and front desk. We only booked 1 night through booking and booked another 10 nights directly from the hotel. We will definitely stay again if in Vienna. Also... breakfast buffet was superb.

I can't complain about this, because as an overweight American guy I always keep air conditioning on "Arctic" and that is not possible in a lot of European hotels, especially in big city centers. You can adjust by a couple of degrees and you won't sweat but I like it cooler. However the temperature was perfect for my wife and kids.

The location of the hotel is great. The breakfast was good with a good variety. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The air conditioning didn't seem to be cold enough.

The hotel is very nicely situated, with bus stops and a lot of restaurants and different eateries nearby. The staff were nice and very helpful, resolving our wrong room type issue as soon as possible and even offering us complimentary drinks for all the trouble. You can even leave your luggage there free of charge, and get an official bag tag so luggage storage is taken very seriously there. The hotel also provides city maps, and there is an interactive dashboard with maps and weather information, for example. Breakfast was varied and filling, with some great drink options as well. Complimentary baked sweet goods are also provided in the lobby in the afternoon. There is also a fitness centre, a bar and a lovely garden. The hotel offers board games and some basic toiletries which you might have forgotten such as deodorant. It also provides invoices.

The second room we got - as the first did not match what we had booked - was right next to a staircase so that was rather unnerving. We understand they cannot change their geography at this point, but placing rooms so close to stairs might be a safety hazard.

The staff was amazing at helping when there was questions or requests, giving recommendations when asking for places, the location of the hotel was only 2-3minutes walk to closest bus/tram/metro line making it an amazing place to get around the city, but still secluded from the major traffic in the city. Proper hotel buffet-breakfast with a bit of everything!

Had some issues where the Wifi-Code given to me didn't give me speed to watch youtube(got solved with a new wifi-code). The cards for hotel door kept getting "discharged" aka they had some issues registering at the door and had to use it a few tries to open up. They didn't inform me that AC was turned off due the cold temperature outside. But overall think I was just a bit unlucky with the room.

Hotel room was very comfortable and clean, with all equipment you might need (iron, hair dryer, kettle). It’s so nice that in case you have forgotten tooth paste, tooth brush, comb or any other things, you can ask and get them for free in the reception. Breakfast was great with a wide range of option to choose from, even sparkling wine. Very open and hospitable staff. Great location - we were using U-bahn a lot to get to city centre or Sconbrunn palace. So the neatest station Kettenbrückergasse was only ~5min walk from hotel, and then some minutes to drive. You can also easily walk from hotel to center in a bit more than 20min.

We had the room on 2nd floor with the view on a street. It was a bit noisy when early morning the garbage truck arrived right behind the window.

On 25th July from amsterdam me and my kids arrived around 9.35am at vienna main train station. I was hesitant to go directly to the hotel because our check in was 1500.I took taxi all the way there and arrived to the hotel before 10am.The receptionist name "Alisa" young lady gave us a warmed smile on our 14 hours trip via train from amsterda all the way to vienna gave some light feelings.I asked her if possible to check in early and she gave direct answer Yes possible.As a mother with 3 kids behind me was so much joy.She gave me a paper to fill up.So,i decided to sit on the lounge and she was very helpful receptionist and friendly.Also the next day early in the morning we have to check out.She helped me to call a taxi for us and she gave my 3 kids free wafers.She is very accommodating receptionist.I won't forgot my experience in this hotel.The location is perfect its near.I highly recommend this hotel when you visit vienna.Specially single mother traveled with 3 kids ages 9,6,5.I hope you find yourself in this hotel super comfortable and accommodating Unfortunately I don't have pictures but i have videos.

The one main thing that stands out about this property is the friendliness of their staff. No matter how tired you are when you get there, their smiles and attitude put you at rest immediately. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and the breakfast was delicious. They accommodated me even though I happened to reach there earlier, and the personal touch of the manner wafers as a parting gift was amazing. The location is great and groceries and restaurants are available in plenty around. Can't wait to go back again :-)

It was exceptional stay for me and my family. We have delayed flight to Vienna and needed to find something and this hotel provided the best possible option. I'm very grateful to hotel staff who greeted us in the Sunday night (blond young guy, forgot to ask his name), who helped us with everything - arranged the bedding, helped the sofa and even offered his assistance with ordering the fool late in the night). The family room contained everything we needed for a family of 4, one big bed and one sofa. The hotel is also centrally located, quite near to Naschmarkt and Opera, so this could be convenient as well. The breakfast was very also very good and contained a lot of options. The price was also quite good if you compare for similar location and type of room (family).

It was little challenging to go over to the elevator as it's located not too close to main entrance with heavy luggage as you need to go through some stairs, but was fine with me (and on the way to room hotel staff helped us).
