Rose Garden Motel

It was our 1st time staying at the Rose Garden Motel and we absolutely loved it. When we arrived in our room the side table lights were left on for us which was a lovely gesture. The staff are lovely. It's a really lovely Motel. We had the best sleep. A little noise from the traffic but it quietened down after a short time. The room was very accommodating had everything we needed and clean. Was very surprised how big the bathroom was. Would definitely stay again next time we are in Geelong. We had undercover parking right at our door. Outdoor setting out the front. There is a salt water pool. From our room we could open the slide out door to go out the back. Close to shops and not far from the beach. Loved the roses. The grounds and gardens are kept immaculate. Really can not fault the place.

Nothing.

The room was spacious and well equipped. It had a comfortable bed, small lounge and dining table, a large bathroom and a kitchenette for meal prep. The outside table and chairs were most welcome at the end of the day for a coffee and relax. Lovely fluffy towels in the bathroom and lots of hot water. Air con was most appreciated on that hot day.

My only criticism would be the tiled bathroom floor. Just a bit slippery for me. I did use the suction mat in the shower.

I went to Melbourne for New Year, leaving my car with family in Geelong. We had a great NYE at a concert at Hamer Hall; and then a family birthday gathering on New Year's Day. The trip back to Geelong was an easy train ride. I spent time with my little Grandson, then went to my room at Rose Gardens, watching SBS Food until I fell asleep. The next morning, the motel is on the main highway to Hamilton, so I left early and was at work in Hamilton about three hours later.

Room was not too big but well laid out. Adequate crockery (of a good size) and cutlery. Bathroom had separate switches for light, fan and heater. Shower had an easily adjustable head. Hot water came through in a reasonable time. Staff courteous and accommodating. The fridge and air conditioner worked quietly and well. Ample places to put things. Dining table and chairs.

The only complaint was that the freezer in the fridge was somewhat iced up so that it was difficult to fit my freezer blocks in.

The room was spacious and well appointed. The bathroom was also very spacious, with plenty of room to leave personal items within easy reach. There was also a spa which we did not use. Car was undercover which was helpful as it was raining a lot of the time. The roses are spectacular and the gardens are well looked after.

Perhaps a service to our room would have been helpful as we were there for three days. We could have asked for more towels at the reception desk or the housekeeping staff, but we were out a lot of the time before staff were present.

A great value for money motel. I am a lady travelling alone for work and felt safe, comfortable and well located in this quiet motel. The huge shower had great pressure & plentiful hot water, the king bed was comfortable, the microwave, toaster & kettle all worked well. There was cutlery & crockery supplied as well as salt & pepper, dishwashing liquid, tea towel etc. Good TV & quiet, effective reverse cycle aircon/heater. I was travelling to Warrnambool the next morning and the motel is located at the right end of Geelong to be travelling against the traffic for a quick getaway. There was a lovely looking pool outside the room but was too cold in early September to use it. There are supermarkets, takeaways etc. all located within a short driving distance. I highly recommend this motel.

The motel is dated and you do pay enough for what it is, but the service is BRILLIANT the owners go 0utn0f their way to make you feel comfortable. The property is always very clean and nothing seemed too much trouble. The internet speeds are slow but I think that's just Geelong for you.

Rooms are in need 9f updating even though they are very clean.

Nice clean and spacious room. I booked a room for me and my partner and we received a king bed with 3 other single beds. I like it.

The Tv could be bigger in size and what’s up with Netflix not having an account? It would be nice if you guys made a Netflix account for the guests to watch and relax because I’m not putting my details for someone to steal or use my Netflix account.

Really friendly host, no hassle, super clean and lots of little touches to show they really care about their property. Grounds very well maintained too. A breath of fresh air compared to most motels.

Air con in the seperate bedroom would have been nice, but a minor point as the main air con was pretty strong and got through if you leave the door open.

We didn’t receive any breakfast at all. The brochure was saying that breakfast will be serve via hatch but we didn’t receive anything.

Communication could be better by the check in person when we got there. He just gave the key and said your room is 11 straight at the back building, that’s it nothing else he mention or welcome or anything.
