Metro Advance Apartments & Hotel

Central location to supermarket, bus stop, hire car company, local sights. Little noise within apartments from neighbours or in corridor. Felt safe staying in this area of Darwin. Apartment with balcony. Fridge/freezer. Washing machine in apartment. Good shower. Friendly reception staff. Clean swimming pool with some shade & seating outside. Excellent cleaning staff. A/c and ceiling fans. Free car parking on street evenings and weekends, plus secure paid parking at accommodation. Apartment block has only 3 floors, so not too big. Easy walking distance to coffee shops.

Lack of easy accessible power points for charging in bedroom, although has a central hub for charging in sitting area. Finding an accessible plug to use the kettle or toaster is a challenge. Plug is behind the microwave! For longer stays hanging clothes in the wardrobe can be an issue, there is only a small space in wardrobe, although plenty of shelving.

The Metro is located less than a 2min walk from the Supermarket. 5mins from Mitchell St and a 5-10min e-scooter to Stokes Hill Wharf and Restaurant.

I had booked a family 2 bedroom with a BBQ and by the pool. But once at reception it was booked with the same room but on the 3rd floor. I was really disappointed and felt deceived by the advertisement. I had stayed here a few years before and was after something by the pool. All the advertising is similar except you can have a BBQ and pool or Balcony. For what I paid for not getting what I wanted I should have settled for something smaller and paid less.

Nice large room and bathroom. We stayed twice - once at the beginning of our trip to the NT and once at the end. After seeing accommodation in the rest of the NT, we were pleased to be coming back to Metro due to the accom and also the pool area. There was a lack of sunbeds when we arrived but we saw new chairs and sunbeds arriving as we left and they were in place when we returned. Pool big enough to swim laps. Would def stay again.

The pool was always very clean but does need slight renovations - people are also allowed to smoke around the pool area. The aircon in our room during the second stay was not powerful enough unfortunately. Don't like the $200 deposit, also heard someone else complaining about it.

Location is excellent and is within walking distance to all attractions in the city. The bus stop is also very close so there was no need for us to hire a car which saved us some money. Staff were also very friendly, especially Shirley who advised us of good places nearby to eat and was also happy to chat and share a joke on our return from night time outings.

When we first used the BBQ it did not operate well and we had flame flair ups due to no fat absorbers in the tray and rusted burners. When we mentioned this management they were quick to replace the old BBQ with a new one so our next cooking experience was excellent.

have been here for longer than the original booking. Clean, comfortable, staff have been extremely accommodating and friendly (particularly the girl on the late desk every night, ill have to get her name)

Theres always things to do better, i will basically never give a 10 so no reflection on your staff or facilities. But have been happy, cant think of a specific example of anything I didnt like,

Great communication prior to arrival, friendly staff, room was small but clean and well presented.

For a hot climate, the air conditioner was the worst, even with the ceiling fan on the room was only just cooler then the hallway. Information on the air conditioner was that it was optimal to keep it at 24 degrees, and that turning it down wouldn't make it work better, it was very inadequate when the reason for returning to your room was to escape the heat outside. Definitely needed upgrading

The room had everything we needed as a family of 4 holidaying in the territory (2 bedroom family room), including fast internet and a good in room laundry and kitchen. It had enough space for all of us.

I think it was too expensive. However, we booked at a time when Darwin demand was extremely high and prices for anything were highly inflated (extreme airline cancellations, multiple states school holidays, very late notice booking). I felt this property was priced too high for what it was, but overall during that week of seeking short term acccommodation it was the best option in Darwin for the price we paid.

Room was good size, clean and comfortable. I liked the executive 1 bedroom room being on the 2nd floor above the pool. To be out of the way of others using the BBQ/pool area. Thou having 2 BBQ areas worked well. Staff where pleasant and cleaning staff very helpful. Woolworth being so close was brilliant for food and drinks. Besides frying pan all the utensils where of reasonable quality and had good range of items. Maintenance quickly fixed/changed out washing machine when it would not spin. Room at night was quiet with a very comfortable bed.

My executive 1 bedroom apartment (Room 2032) balcony does get strong sun in afternoons, lunch time on to darkness. The stove was close to useless. Taking forever to heat up. With pans out of shape so not touching the element properly. I tried using the oven but after 40 minutes waiting for it to get hot I gave up. A power skillet supplied would have been better. Suction fan was extremely loud. The fridge on warmest temp froze food. Bed linen options where clean but basic. Shower had good water pressure. The information in room to use different items (micro wave and stove) was very limited.

The bed was very comfortable, and the room was a good size and had everything we needed. The shower was particularly good. The location of the hotel was fine, being close to a supermarket and bus stops, and an easy walk from the city centre. The staff were very friendly, and extremely helpful whenever we had questions about the city, transport etc.

No complaints at all.

The room was comfortable, other than the noisy people next door. The staff who greeted me were lovely and friendly. I felt very welcome :)

The doors between rooms are very thin. Unfortunately there was a hockey or netball team next to me and across the hall who were screaming and carrying on all night and then started again early the next morning. The milk in the fridge was frozen because it was place right in front if the freezer.
