Kiama Shores

The room was able to be heated or cooled. It was spotlessly clean. We were able to walk from there to all the Kiama attractions. We had a car park. The staff were smiley and nice on check-in. The water from the shower was hot and the shower was well ventilated. There was good storage space for luggage and space around the bed.

Interestingly there was a sign in the room saying that if we did not wash the dishes we would be charged $100 for the cleaning staff to do it. I used to work in hotels and (even though we always wash as we go) was quite taken aback by this so posted it on FB. The general agreement was that this is not really good practice - mostly for hygiene. If the staff do it at least we know it has been cleaned from the previous residents of the room and not just run under a cold tap. Because of the sign we washed every plate, cup and piece of cutlery before we used it. Covid is still around!

Perfect location for our 3 night stay. We were in Room 204 on the top floor overlooking the pool. Lovely spacious room and VERY clean (thankyou). Friendly helpful staff. Well kept hotel, pretty flowers in pots around the pool area. Only 2 doors from Kiama Leagues Club for tasty meals. Actually, we were spoilt for choice for reasonably priced meals in Kiama - a chicken roast dinner at Red Rooster, a Dominoes with the lot pizza or a $15 lunch meal at the Bowling Club. All within walking distance from Kiama Shores. Plenty of guest parking at rear of hotel. We parked our car for 3 days and walked to everything. About 3.7km to the LITTLE Blow Hole (this was a bit of a challenge as Kiama has many hills and it was unseasonably hot during our stay). 1.2kms to Blow Hole (we walked there on all three days), 1km to Surf Beach and Farmers Market, 500 metres to Kiama Ocean Pool. We never made it to Bombo as we ran out of time....maybe next trip.

The lounge chairs in our room were uncomfortable and hard if sitting for any length of time watching tv at night. No toaster provided. Not sure if they have them as we never asked.

My husband and I were very happy with everything about Kiama Shores. First of all upon pulling up we were pleased with the appearance and further pleased with the interior as we walked in. We were greeted by the lovely receptionist, wish I remember her name, super helpful. Our room was immaculate and had everything you could ever want and more. Loved the attention to the detail like the hairdryer in a velvet casing, the mattress was so comfortable and kitchen amenities available. Then, the proximity to so many eateries, all wonderful. So we thank you very much for making our "clear our head" get away all that more special. Oh forgot to mention, we forgot our phone chargers. We called reception to ask where we could purchase one and she was quick to ask type of phone and immediately ran one up for us. That was amazing service. So definitely will be back and referring Kiama Shores to friends and family who often go to Kiama for sporting events. Thank you for a wonderful stay

The building was recently renovated and they maintain it very clean and tidy. The room was very comfortable too and we didn't expect that they would provide us with good quality of amenities. The staff was very responsive and friendly through the booking process until providing the easy check-in and access because we came a bit later. It was a very pleasant stay-cation for me and my wife and will definitely consider staying again.

We understand there was a note that guests are encouraged to clean and dry their own dishes after usage otherwise would incurred a $100 cleaning fee, in which we do not mind. The only concern we had was whether the previous guest would have done so and whether the housekeeping staff would double check to ensure they are truly hygiene and clean. Other than that, everything else was perfect.

Spacious room, exceptionally clean and modern. Easy parking onsite. This is a lovely refurbished motel in the centre of town, opposite the park. It's a short stroll through the park to the Kiama coast path or to the main street with multiple cafes and restaurants. Being so central, you can expect some noise from the traffic, but it didn't spoil our stay. There is also some building work visible from the rear of the motel, so a garden or pool view room is recommended. Excellent value for money and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at this motel several times and was pleasantly surprised by the recent upgrades and renovations. The new lift was a wonderful addition and saved my knees from carrying my baggage downstairs. My room was lovley and clean and the bed was an absolute luxury. I was also very pleased with the addition of a microwave. The managers were very friendly and welcoming. This motel is in a great location for shops and restaurants and cafes.

I know this cannot be helped and a bit trivial but I found the loud voices of the cleaners calling out to each other in the morning in the corridor a little annoying.

My wife and me loved the place, the interior design of the rooms and lobby is quite fancy, perfect location to walk to both north/south of Kiama to see all beaches and go sightseeing. We checked out at 10 am, but we were planning to leave the town way later so they kindly let us save our luggage in the reception for more hours. That was very kind from the staff who were so polite.

The only thing I've to say is the washing dishes stuff such as clothes and liquid. Can be improved as it was very difficult to dry dishes and glasses

The property seems to have been recently updated and the changes are tasteful and stylish. During the last 2 weeks we stayed in a number of motels while travelling and this was by far the most updated, clean and fresh. The beds were comfortable and large. The bathroom was well stocked and the towels were luxurious. The kitchenette had everything required and the new fittings were lovely. The AC was new and worked very well. The staff who greeted us were friendly and kind.

While it can’t be helped, the view from the back of the property overlooks the car park. As the owners seem very keen to improve the property, some undercover parking would greatly alleviate the look of the car park.

Good location. When the construction across the car park has been completed, the location will be great. The room is very practical with everything needed is present - from toiletries to plates. Comfortable beds.

There was a little bit of strange smell in the bathroom, but I’m not sure if it was caused by recent renovation or something else. Also, refilling tea bags on daily basis would have been a nice touch. I was stuck in the room on the very first day and used up all of them at the beginning of the stay:)

great location, lovely room, big & comfortable bed

the $100 fee for not washing up cups and plates. this should not be left up to paying guests - it should be part of the service. these plates and cups should be put through the dishwasher by staff after every use rather than relying on guests to hand wash them. this would also be way more hygienic!
