Alstonville Settlers Motel

When I arrived to check in, the lady at the reception desk was so welcoming and lovely to talk to! She seemed like she really cared about my adventures with my family and I felt comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and really good quality pillows. The heater was very effective and very tasty complimentary milk. There’s also snacks for a good price! And the shower has good pressure and it gets nice and hot. The location is so close to the main road but it’s still somehow very quiet and peaceful. I really enjoyed this motel!

Can’t think of anything negative! The wifi and phone signal was great too.

I loved everything about this property, the motel staff were lovely. Upon arrival they offered us milk for tea or coffee for our stay. The woman at the front desk recommended places for us to get dinner and was very friendly. The next morning we had another woman from housekeeping ask if we needed anything and even asked one of the people I was staying with if she had a good sleep which I personally think it very thoughtful and not something you can find at many other places. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable, shower was great and there was free wifi. They have a great pool too. All the guests staying there were very quiet. It’s a beautiful motel and about a 20 minute drive from Byron Bay. I cannot recommend this place enough, it was amazing.

Driving from Sydney to here was worth every hour. It made our stay enjoyable & comfortable. Everything was clean and perfect. Beautiful little town. It was an exceptional stay & I wish there was an available date to book on the way home. Michelle was a Gem! A variety of coffee and biscuits for the morning. Also, this is for the guest. Delicious snacks and drinks in the fridge and cupboard are available to purchase for a very great price. 3 single beds in 1 room. The entry had a beautiful double bed with a couch. Built-in wardrobe. Just beautiful! Also, a saltwater pool which we didn't end up using unfortunately only because we needed a place to rest and continue early morning.

There was nothing not to like!!!

The location was great. There was a microwave, toaster & kettle, with tea, coffee & biscuits as well as optional drinks & snacks to purchase. Crockery, glassware & cutlery were provided also. There was shower gel, shampoo & conditioner in the bathroom too. Cleaning staff were happy to provide anything you needed. Friendly receptionist as well. Would stay there again.

Couldn't access Netflix or movies & had difficulty with TV remote. Some instructions would have been appreciated.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room had a microwave, kettle and small fridge along with cutlery crockery and glassware so we were able to enjoy an inexpensive meal in our room on the night we decided to stay in. We could dine at the small table in our room or if the weather had been nicer enjoyed a BBQ outside in the common area. Fresh milk (not UHT) was available for tea/coffee making. The rooms were clean and cleaned daily. Having a little outdoor table and chairs outside each room was a nice touch. We will return.

The location was perfect. I had wanted something close to my Mother and it appeared to be closest when looking online. Not being familiar with the area, when I did visit mum it was minutes away.

With the need to clean as per NSW Health and covid requirements, the shower floor was slippery and did not resolve with a couple of showers. I mentioned this to the Motel staff on leaving. It was more of an awareness for the issue by me, but it could have been an issue for another client if they were older and or had mobility issues. This had not been mentioned before to staff so the information was well received.

Kettle, toaster option. Work Desk - albeit a bit small. Fresh milk offered at check in. Good aircon. Enough coat hangers. Provsion of both drying rack and suitcase rack.

The bed sheets could have been longer at the head end of the bed and folded over, however, we managed to remake the bed accordingly the second night.

Had iour own breakfasts. Location perfect for our Northern Rivers travel. Staff very helpful

Air conditioner was alittle noisey but we got used to it. Problems with the shower going cold when manipulating the lever during the shower. If you kept it at one spot it was OK.

The pleasant owner, very helpful lady, clean & comfortable room, bedding etc. Quiet area.

Typical motel shower, hot & cold water both at the same time. Found when coming back to room when dark, cannot find light switch, had to use phone light to find switch. Very little fresh air available to room, small window in bathroom. Other than those small issues, we would stay there again.

Upon opening the unit door, there was a sense of comfort, relaxation and cleanliness. Its appearance was immaculate, well cared for and carefully presented. It was very suitable for an overnight stop and the local township was very interesting too.

For a longer stay, more kitchen facilities would be desirable.
