Sissi Haz Hotel

They demanded an increase of approximately 10% if payment was made by credit card, which I was never alerted to by the host. I understand the dramatic economic situation in Argentina, but I should have been informed of this at the time of booking.

The location is excellent … right in the centre of the Soho region of Palermo … the best area to stay when in Buenos Aires …. It’s an old part with cobbled roads and so much character … walking distance to many restaurants, coffee shops, laundry and much more. The owners are very sweet (even though they cannot speak any English). I must have had the best room in the guesthouse because it looked like the only one on the ground floor …. It was a lovely large bedroom and just as large a bathroom with shower … the guesthouse is quaint and looks almost Swiss with its shutters. I’m pleased that I wasn’t on the second floor with my knee and leg problems as the staircase is quite steep and narrow.

The breakfast was very basic and limited with 2 types of cereals, toast, jam, one or two different pastries and some whole fruit. I was not aware that I would need to ask for scrambled eggs.

Simple and very good breakfast with fresh orange juice, eggs to order, sliced meats, sliced, sliced cheese, fresh fruit bowl, coffee, tea, milk, cereal, toast and a breakfast staff to wait on you. Perfect way to start the day.

Our travel arrangements required a lengthy period of time for us to wait. Being older our group wasn't able to walk around or tour the city all day and then catch a near midnight flight home. This facility lacks a public lounge area that would have been nice to have available. However, the facility does have a small garden area with tables and chairs for you to relax as long as it isn't too hot or raining. I would recommend booking an extra nights stay if you have a late flight connection and enjoy your large room and get some sleep if needed. Our only regret was not booking one extra nights stay for this reason.

The front desk employee's were very helpful, advising on tours and restaurants. The day We checked out, the young lady was very helpful, in getting us a taxi to the airport, after the first one did not show up as booked. She went out to the street and spoke to the driver ( in Spanish) the price. Sorry I did'nt remember her name, she worked the afternoon shift.

At first even the taxi driver thought he had the wrong address when we arrived from the airport. There is no lobby, until the staff open the door.A sign would help us tourist find the hotel.

The staff and location of Sissi Haz couldn't have been better. The room was very comfortable and clean. The location is in the heart of Palermo Hollywood and neighborhood is full of great restaurants and bars. Sylvinia, the owner/manager speaks excellent English and always had helpful advice for navigating Buenos Aires. Her father, Lorenzo, is the best. We communicated effectively with GoogleTranslate and he always had a smile, even at midnight. Cheng, another staff member, deserves a call-out too. Breakfast is included and was a great way to start each day.

There was really nothing we felt was lacking. Excellent value for this 3-4 star level hotel.

The hotel was a quaint Swiss looking building and you felt very secure. The rooms are large and had a nice rustic feel with exposed wood beams and had comfortable beds. The staff and owner were excellent very inviting and helpful with our questions. The location was great, we walked almost everywhere. We picked this hotel because it was close to the regional airport, for we had an early morning flight out, and we were glad we did. I would stay again!

Excellent location to explore Palermo and a short Uber ride to the city or Recoleta to do more touristing. Lovely, helpful staff with great Recommendations for local restaurants. We felt safe here. Breakfast was nice but simple. Would stay again and recommend to others.

It could use some updating. Bathrooms were tired. New towels and pillows would be a benefit. If you have a room at the front, the restaurant over the road could be loud at night if you are in bed early (before midnight).

The room (102) was very spacious and well decorated. The outside too is really charming. The position is great if you want to stay in Palermo - lots of restaurants and bars at your doorstep but not noisy. The internet worked well. The room was always immaculate - the cleaning staff do a great job! The bed was really comfortable!!

Breakfast could be improved - it’s a little too simple. The system of ringing the doorbell each time you come back is a little inconvenient and should be changed. At check-in we paid two different amounts at the same time and the USD conversion was different for both (neither was exactly the official daily rate). When we asked why, the response was “Argentina is terrible” - I think the rate should be clear so that the client isn’t paying more than what was agreed upon with Booking.com

Very friendly and helpful staff, the breakfast was nice - they always offered to make us scrambled eggs or an omelette to go with the spread (medialunas, ham, cheese, bread, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, and tea) they already had out. The room was clean, cool, and comfortable. Our room was not on the street-side so it was quiet and dark and we slept well. The location is also perfect! We would definitely stay at Sissi Haz again!

Excellent location in the heart of Palermo so short walk to cafes, bars, shops, restaurants etc. Very friendly service throughout our stay. Nice room. Easy to get taxis to rest of Buenos Aires eg only $4,000 to Plaza de Mayo. Breakfast quite basic. Recommend if you like small and friendly rather than Hilton type hotels.
