Cochin Zen Hotel

Loved the cosy room and the breakfast buffet.The rooftop bar and spas were also a big bonus. The staff at front desk could be a bit more friendlier and more approachable.I have however have to make one exception as one of the ladies at front desk recommended a lovely Vietnamese restaurant where we could have a meal on our last day.

I didn't like how cold and clinical the staff was at front desk was.They were too business orientated.No "good morning how are you....or good afternoon did you have a good day"?

Friendly staff, good breakfast, good location right next to the square and close to the sights and the center. The pool on the upper floor is nice, small, with a lot of greenery around, but not deep enough to swim. Of the 7 hotels I stayed at in Vietnam, this one was the worst in terms of quality and price and the most expensive. It was below our expectations. They gave us a very small room on the first day, with stripped furniture, overlooking a block of flats under construction, even though we had paid more for a room with a city view, but the next day they changed our room to one with view of the main street, although that view is not beautiful either. But the room and the furniture look better and it was bigger. In the presentation photos of the hotel on booking.com, there is a photo that is not of the hotel. The one with some buildings lit up at night. It doesn't seem fair to me because that photo betrayed our expectations.

An overpriced hotel compared to other hotels in Vietnam. Not very good value for money. I wouldn't go again.

The location is perfect. Before making my choice I read a lot of reviews and couldn't quite decide. I selected Cochin Zen Hotel and didn't realize at the time that I made the ideal choice in terms of location. It's in the middle between the museums, local market and the city hall + boulevard. The standard of the hotel is high and truly zen.

The opening hours of the rooftop bar & the fact you can't buy any bar snacks. Good business opportunity! People need to go to the local supermarket which is cheaper, but would rather spend money in the bar for convenience reasons.

Nice location close to everything you want to see in the city. Nice decor and quality breakfast. Okay roof space to view the city.

Construction noise if pretty unbearable - some guy with a drill from 8am what seemed like next to the room all day long. Sound proofing is also pretty poor can hear toilets flushing and sinks from other rooms. Also, maybe being called Zen hotel maybe should be adults only as had kids running through floors screaming and jumping in an out of the small pool and jacuzzis whilst people trying to relax is a little odd! Also some adults slamming doors shouting just puts the place down

We only stayed overnight because we had a flight out the next day but the property is excellent, the breakfast is the best I’ve seen, it was absolutely excellent, the staff was amazing. I chose a room with no windows and was great for the night.. kept out the outside noise. Would choose this option again if we needed a good nights sleep. The drinks at the rooftop bar were excellent. Everyone working at the property was really just incredibly kind. I would definitely choose this hotel again when staying in the city.

The best staff I have ever experienced in a hotel in all my travels at 61 years young. Honestly, they were so friendly & helpful. The breakfast was pretty good. I liked the way they cooked eggs to order. I'm eating a soft diet right now & have never tried congee... it's really good. I liked the different the chicken noodle & red bean very much. Special shout out to Sam, Sung and Vin (not Sin, like I called him and we had a huge laugh). They went over and above to assist at all times. The housekeeping staff were friendly and had a great attention to detail to ensure the room was cleaned spotlessly each day.

The property is dated, bathroom & TV small. The aircon took a bit to get used to. I was looking forward to the Zen bar and pool area until I realised it was where the smokers liked to sit. It meant I only used the pool twice because of the smokers. Due to Covid, they closed dining for lunch & dinner and will eventually have it back again. The gym, sauna & spa were also closed for renovation. I'm staying in HCMC for medical and was planning on staying in the hotel a fair bit while recovering so this impacted my stay. I probably missed reading this before booking.

Food was all Vietnamese. They shd be little continental. Since lot of Indian are staying there should look in to some Indian varieties speciaaly for vegetarians.

Everything! I booked a room without a window, but it was clear for me and I was aware of that. And I still loved it! I spent the time in the room, mostly only to sleep and it was even better to take a rest, after whole day of walking around. And the price was amazing, it was real deal, and this rooftop view!!! Who needs a room with a window, when you have this view from the bar and pool! Location is also great, it’s strictly in district 1, walking distance to all main attractions, restaurants and markets. Staff is super friendly and professional. I booked it for 2 nights and extended for 1 more night. Totally worth it!

There are many things I liked about this lovely hotel: the friendly staff, the comfortable bed, the wellness center, the zen decorations throughout the hotel... After 3 nights stay, I rebooked another 4 nights and also booked a BBQ buffet birthday party. The rooftop offers an amazing view at night.

Almost nothing... but I think the wifi connection was unstable. I had several dropped calls. But it could be my phone.
