Best Western East Zion Thunderbird Lodge

This is one of the first times that I am glad to be able to review a hotel for positive things! We got our room on a semi-whim, on our way back from a trip up north, and I actually told my wife that this is one of my favorite hotel stays ever! The staff (Amanda) was great! The room was spacious, clean, well-situated, and comfortable. The restaurant was fun, unique, and the wait staff was great. The only complaint that I would have is that there was no exercise room, but there was a golf course, and other activities available that I did not take time to enjoy! I would definitely return, and I would love to spend more time there!

The hotel is very conveniently located in a sweet spot between Zion and Bryce national park. It can be a perfect base camp to tour Zion and Bryce along with Antelope canyon. The hotel has a large surrounding area, nice to walk around in the afternoon. It offers free parking with ample parking spaces. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. In-room refrigerator was handy. The staff were nice and accommodating.

No full housekeeping/cleaning was offered, only took trash in the morning. The towels and amenities were available only upon explicit request. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but the reception was occasionally unattended. The area is a bit lonely, no proper restaurant except the hotel diner.

About 40 min from the Zion visitor center. Rooms quite confortable for a family of 4. Pool and jacuzzi are nice touch but no gym at the hotel. The hotel seems to have been renovated in recent times. Very nice restaurant! Absolutely a must having a meal or more.

No fitness room. Also upon arrival at 3:10pm had a hard time finding a person to check us in. Restaurant closes completely on Wes and Thu due to lack of staff. Therefore, if you happen to stay at the hotel during these days there will be no food service at all.

Staff could not have been nicer. The room was very spacious and very clean. It was unfortunate that the restaurant had to close for a couple of days of our stay but we enjoyed the meals we had there. Loved the quirkiness of the restsurantcand the fact that although it's part of a chain it still feels very much like a family run hotel and you feel personally cared for as a guest. It was in an ideal location for Zion and Bryce Canyon and we also enjoyed a visit to Kanab too.

perfectly clean, quiet rooms with lovely showers and beds, everything you need on site, fuel, great restaurant and laundry, plus 3 gift shops/gas station stores so you could get essentials and souvenirs. the staff were so helpful, extremely welcoming and gave great service too - don’t miss this restaurant, great pancakes, gorgeous pies and delicious menu - overall brill!!

nothing it was all great!

It was on our way to the Grand Canyon and it was in a lovely area. Restaurant was good.

We got a knock on the door from housekeeping saying checkout was 9am and they wanted to clean the room, the booking said it was 11 as did reception at check in. Found it a bit odd, like would they have gone into the room where our stuff was if we had been at breakfast.

Nice hotel. Nice pool. Quiet place. Very welcoming staff. Very clean. Probably best choice east of Zion NP.

The hotel restaurant closes at 10 PM. There is nothing else around except a gas station with some sandwiches so be sure to have supplies if you arrive late. Next closest city is Kanab about 20 minutes away by car.

Loved the restaurant. Great value and delicious food. The staff at hotel was also friendly and helpful. Room was very nice and clean (loved the decor). Particularly loved the shower! Location was perfect for going to Zion and Bryce Canyon. Right in the middle of both.

Had to ask for clean towels twice and a few other things; coffee not replaced last two days. Missed having bed made up, but understand completely with this economy it's hard to get help and they were short-staffed. But everyone at front desk was kind and helpful and more than willing to give us what we needed. Even the staff at the store there was great.

Jane at front desk was very helpful and pleasant. Room was the largest we stayed in on a 16 day trip. Was very clean and did not find long black hair on sheets and towels like other hotels we stayed in. Restaurant was very good, excellent service!

Only thing we had trouble with was the TV.. Could not figure out how it worked. Tried for a hour and quit..

Very comfortable bed, great AC with just the right temperature. Ice machine very efficient, with good size, solid chunks of ice. Nice view from large balcony. Plenty of coffee for the coffee maker in the morning. Staff friendly and helpful.

When we arrived there was a county wide power outage. Surprisingly, the room was still nice and cool, which was good, considering the outside temperature was around 110F. The girl at the desk had a surprisingly cavalier attitude about it, but rather than being annoying, I found it funny and refreshing. Fortunately the power came on after about 3 hours. The outside of the building doesn't look very appealing, but the rooms are very comfortable.
