Holiday Inn Express & Suites College Station, an IHG Hotel

During the evening, the smoke alarm started to beep every so often. I called the front desk, and the young gentlemen who checked me in came immediately and put in new batteries which solved the problem for the night. After I was awake in the morning, it started up again. This was not a big problem and I alerted the front desk up an early check out. I also appreciated the receipt under my door overnight. My previous stay in College Station (last month) was at the Hampton Inn and they refused to provide a receipt. My wife, a CPA contacted the hotel subsequently and they promised to send one which they never did. I had to print out part of the credit card statement so I could get reimbursed. So I won't stay there again which is how I came to stay at this Holiday Inn Express instead.

The lack of hot fresh cookies during afternoon check in,

I loved it! Desk staff were extremely pleasant. Loves the lady who checked us in. Bed was the best I've slept on in a hotel. Pillows were oh so comfy, the shower spray was perfect, and I loved the wall mounted shower products.

The doors to the room slam and mo way to stop them from slamming. I was getting onto my daughter for slamming the door but when people started coming in between 11 pm -1 am and doors slamming, it was more than unsettling and I realized it wasn't just my daughter or just our room. My husband stayed there awhile back and when I mentioned it, he immediately remnered.

Location is great. The room was clean.

Breakfast was better than most hotels during COVID but still could use some work. Would be nice if it was still the full breakfast and someone served from behind shielded counter, or possibly have hot food choices other than oatmeal in individual containers that can be heated in a microwave. It doesn't appear COVID will go away soon and I am tiring of not getting a full breakfast, as advertised.

My room card kept deactivating every day. Had to go back to checking to get activated.

THIS TIME THE RECEPTION WAS GOOD, I DIDN’T HAVE ANY ISSUES, THE ROOM CLEAN, AND THAT STAY DIANNE MADE IT GREAT WITH HER KINDNESS AND ATTENTION.

WHEN THE A/C START ON MADE A LITTLE NOISE, IN THE MORNING THE HOUSEKEEPING LADIES DID A LOT OF NOISE, AND AT THE MIDNIGHT KIDS(I THOUGHT) RUNNING IN THE HALL AND CLOSING DOORS HARD.

How is this a 2 star hotel? This hotel should be closer to a 3 star hotel. Outdoor pool, laundry, machines, breakfast included.

Due to CDC guidelines we breakfast was served by an employee but if she was busy the wait time was long.

Hallways stuffy, elevators were small, one employee had their child which made her not very attentive. The outside pool area is very small.

This was the most disappointing of all. Staff served ( I guess due to COVID) but there was no one available and we waited for service and then only received a marginal helping with minimal choices. So disappointing.

The room was very clean and quiet. The desk clerk was efficient and friendly. The remodeling did not create a problem.

I understand the breakfast restrictions, but I do miss the old hot breakfast buffet.

Housekeeping schedule should not limited from 9 am to 2 pm
