Inn at Starlight Lake & Restaurant

If you prefer the perfectly organized, stale atmosphere you find in most American hotels, then this place may not be for you. It is, as some other people described, like walking into a large family home. Lived in, a little topsy-turvy and very welcoming. They have a kid's play room with a ping pong and pool table, and can be a little chaotic at times. My kids loved it, however. They also have a couple of kayaks and a row boat that you can take out on the lake. The breakfast is good, with a standard American diner style menu. Everything was fresh and good. The dinner was good too. We enjoyed the stake, salmon, pasta and soup. The hotel rooms are old style with no TV or fridge. They are clean and comfortable. The mattresses are new, but old style. I slept like a log there. The staff were great and seem very happy that the owner allows them to bring their kids to work. We would love to return.

The outdoors could do with a spruce up and a little paint. The bikes and equipment need to be maintained more. Maybe it just adds to the charm. There is little to do in the area around the hotel if you are not into hiking, boating, fishing and hunting.

I love the look of the Inn. We have stayed there on several occasions. The food in the restaurant never disappoints and the (included) breakfasts are wonderful.

I wish there was somewhere to sit and relax QUIETLY to check email, read a book, etc. Perhaps a good idea would be an area that is "adults only" on the main floor. I really don't mid the fact that there is no air conditioning, because it does cool down quite nicely in the evening, but I would rather sit downstairs in the evening than shut myself up in my room.

Sari and her entire staff were amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were taken care of. We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner there and every meal was exceptional. If you are looking for an old-school resort experience this is it.

If you are looking for every modern amenity this is not for you. However, if you want to go back to a simpler time where you can take out a boat, eat great meals, or read a book on the dock this will click all the boxes.

Lovely location. So quiet. Almost private lake. Place needs some care, but truly unique historical place and location. Family run. If you like quirky and unique, put this one on your bucket list. Did i mention the restaurant? Dinner menu was fabulous. All in all, a very fun place.

It's dated. Only one outlet in our room. So we had difficulty charging our phones. Limited cell service (hmmm, I'm neutral on that. )

Loved the view and the location plus having a restaurant onsite was great! The restaurant was delicious for dinner and breakfast! Bed was comfy and shower and bathroom were great. Would stay again for sure.

Inn was rustic but a little shabby. Could use some painting and decluttering and a few repairs. Needs TLC and hope they work on it. It is definitely worth keeping it up.

The view of the lake, the hospitality of the staff, the food was awesome-- mostly made from scratch. The rooms were simple but comfortable. Don't expect TV or wifi but do expect a relaxing getaway from everyday distractions. Yhere are canoes and kayaks for guest use. And bikes as well.. The owner. Sari is the one of the most friendly people we have met. She took us for a tour The night we checked in. Sat us for dinner and was our server for the evening. She was very attentive through out our stay....making sure our breakfast that was included in our stay was timely and enjoyable. We were encouraged to stay for the day we checked out and not rushed into returning back home. We will definitely be returning later this fall. Sincerely, Kristina and Jeff

Very good value, and quality

Service at the Bar - staff more interested in eating their meals than serving. I don't mind this, but all staff eating at same time meant we had to wait to be served. Add in an error on the number of drinks ordered and it tarnished the stay a little

The food was great, the beds were comfortable and the lake was beautiful! The staff were very friendly as well.

The window sills had a lot of dead bugs in them. The room had a smell of stale cigarette smoke, and the landscaping was overgrown and needed some attention.

Very cozy and simple. The room was clean and the breakfast was great. The lake view during the fall season was beautiful!! Overall a very cute getaway.

It's very simple and homey. There was no cell service in the area and wifi only in the main room of the inn. No TV in the room, so definitely a place to disconnect.
